So Saints Row IV came out today. Anyone playing it?

Looking for impressions. Trailers look awesome, but not sure I want to spend $50 on a game.

i started it 10 minutes after it was unlocked ... played 1 hour... (from that hour 30 minutes went on creating my character...which in the end i didnt quite like)

it started more on rails, not too open, but i liked what i played

good graphics and the bizarre sense of humor of always

ill try to keep posting here as i play it further

Definitely on rails for the tutorial/intro part, but I'm finally in the open world.

I was having a blast, can't wait for more carnage.

Oh man, I played for 3 hours last night (from the very minute it was released)

The powers work pretty damn well. Jumping around the city is really fun.

One of the few games I'm allowing myself to buy at full price (the other will be Batman 😀). It's sitting on my hard drive waiting to be played. After seeing you can now scale the city in an Infamous/Prototype manner I pre-ordered. I'm psyched

Unless I've been waiting for a game for years on end, there's no way I'm paying full price. Gonna wait for the price to drop. Looks interesting.

If anyone is on the fence, you can get it for 20% off at GMG. Not as good as the 25% off they had during the Steam sale, but 🙂

    PC Download

I think it was supposed to be an expansion for SR3 but became so big they just repackaged it as SR4. That's not to say it's not fun, I haven't played it yet. I'm still enjoying SR3.

Absolutely disgusting fun..is all I have to say about Saints Row 4.

I've already played 5.8 hours so far.

(Make that 10.5 hours.)

It was originally an expansion/dlc for SR3. But THQ was having some bad financial problems they decided to make it into SR4 because SR3 sold really really well.

Played for a few hours. Haven't played a game in one sitting so long in a while. Very very good, even if it's not much difference than SR3. I'm more than willing to pay the money for stuff like this as it's my favorite genre by far.

Also: I got really excited when I heard In Flames come on the radio too.

Gonna hold off. game will be super cheap in no time.

This. Not paying 50$. Sorry, I like Saint's Row but the first had some co-op issues that caused me to never finish the game with my brother so I'll hold off until a sale. That and 50$ is a bit too steep for a game that will be 30$ in less than a month.

It is a lot of fun, but is basically a humorous version of crackdown, with super powers and a lot more cursing.

I'm the same way. I won't pay more than $30 for a game. I don't care how good it looks or how much fun it is. Most games don't have any replay value so $50 is alot of money for that.

Stupid question? Is this game a FPS? If not, what kind of game is it? I'm not familiar with the franchise but I like what I hear so far.

It's a third-person open-world action game, similar to GTA or Sleeping Dogs.

I love that its taking SR3 and turning things up another notch. I'm a bit worried that that might not be worth $50. I'll wait til its say $30. $40 is tough to resist but I think I'll hold off a bit since my friend isn't into these games so he'd only be willing to play if its dirt cheap.

The Matrix. But much more hilarious.

This makes me wonder who has the license for The Matrix games. I could come up with some seriously fun ideas for an open world game - both in and out of the Matrix. Ah well, different thread topic.

I'm still working my way through SR3. Probably won't pick this up until it's < $20.
