Would the government give me a house too?

Just dont put this in your cover letter.

sorry...I'm a bit pissy today.

There are another round of firings going on at work. I'm not going to be part of the cut but it pissed me off. All these people getting excited because they are going to be set for 2 years and not have to work.

SERIOUSLY pissed me off.

It's not full pay, and there's no insurance.
It's good for those who really don't want to work and don't worry about their health. (Drug users, alcoholics, pizza delivery guys, etc)

Yea I'm not sure how they can be happy about it rudeguy. Once you get used to a certain lifestyle, it is hard to make $400/wk.

It is fun for the first two weeks, then you drive yourself crazy sitting at home during the day. I was on that boat 3 years ago, and I was going to blow my brains out if I saw one more car insurance or ITT Tech commercial.

Seems like they are trying to mentally cope with the fact that they are getting fired.

It is pretty tempting. If I were 24 or under I'd do it tbh. Paid year long vacation.

Really is no reason to find a job if you're on it and don't have many bills. My girlfriends friends husband was on, or maybe still is, a year or more with these stupid ass extensions. He won't work for less than he was getting paid pre-recession.

I say put these leeches in community service after a couple months. 32 hour work weeks, one day open for "interviews". Bet 90% would drop out, and get a job or continue working under the table without the free bonus.

When you work you want to get home and relax and when you're out of work and home all the time, you want to just leave.

I was out of work for most of 09 and I hate, "For the best car insurance rates online, go to the General and save some time!!!"

Yeah, I'd be real excited to spend two years making shit money and earning no experience/career progression.

Yea but if you have real skills like auto tech, plumber, etc... you can do work on the side/under table.

At the end of 99 weeks if someone hasn't gotten a new job they should be put into a FEMA camp.

Also employers are skeptical in hiring people who have been out of work. It gets harder and harder to get a job the longer the gap is.

The reason people are talking about 99 weeks "vacation" is because they're trying to make themselves feel better for the living hell they're going to experience.

Between graduation from college and when I started my job 2 months later, I was the worst person in the world to be around. I felt like a total failure and feverishly applied everywhere I could in hopes that SOMEONE would call me back. I wouldn't wish unemployment on my worst enemy... (ok maybe I would).

I know I'm not the only one too. No one wants to live on unemployment.

I'd rather keep my job.

Unless I was 2 years from retirement, that might be the only way I'd deal with it well.

I thought they added another 52 weeks late last year, with the tax cut extensions.

lol, I didn't even realize it was 99, thought it was still at a little over a year. Almost 2 years is retarded, especially when I see news stories of people spending their welfare and unemployment at strip clubs, bars and lottery tickets. There's no accountability, system is broken and the legitimate workers are forced to support it.

I knew a girl with 4 kids, drug addict, went to prison, got out and now gets 3k/month from uncle sam and doesn't work. Would be 4k but one child is in permanent hospital care.

Just because there's some people who abuse the system doesn't mean everyone is. I'm glad I had unemployment because if I didn't get any I would have been homeless and on the streets and ruined financially.

I've honestly thought about running the numbers, getting divorced and just living together (we could live fine on one salary) and then taking advantage of all that free money, food stamps, welfare, healthcare, etc and just work on my golf game daily.

Then my dignity stops me. But don't think I'm kidding about pondering it.

Considering that stuff is all calculated on household income, you wouldn't be getting shit. But it doesn't surprise me that you brag about "pondering it."

I'd set up a different residence in the projects as my mailing address. If "poor people" and illegals can game the system, so can I.
