i suggest you format your comp. they might bring some people over to scan your hd. simply deleting a file is not enough since they can recover it (maybe). safest bet is to format it.

Formatting the hard drive won't do a damned thing. You have to overwrite the files. :)

wow i thought the only options were to either overwrite the files or to do that slow format that dos offers... i guess just overwriting it is the only option?

that sounds too tough, i would suggest burning it or disposing it in some destructive manner like everyone else has suggested after me.

You can format your balls off and everything on your hard drive that hasn't been overwritten can still be easily recovered. You have to securely erase (overwrite) your hard drive to make stuff be gone forever. Military/Government standard is 7 overwrites, I believe.

Yeah, but that still doesn't prove that was him. If he can prove that he had an unprotected wireless router running at the time, the MPAA won't be able to prove that his computer downloaded it.

You better wipe you HD clean, the FBI is about to pay you a visit! ;)

Just chuck the hard drive into a fire...let the FBI try and recover anything on it then :)

Shows what you know, no0b.

Dban for eternity for best results with working drive, or physical destruction to be sure.
