I have already fessed up to everything I did, and said.
I realize that I should have handled it differently. I can't take it back at this point, so all I'm doing is explaining what happened.

No, you're griping about what she did, and acting as though you're a saint. Give me a break.

Do you think that her actions were mature or reasonable? Do you think there is any situation which would rightfully prompt that?

I'm not trying to act like a saint, and like I said, I don't think I handled it right either--but I am still shocked that someone could act like that.

YOUR actions weren't mature or reasonable - don't you think it's rather hypocritical of you to expect that hers would be? Whose actions are worse is really beside the point.

I don't understand how you can think that her reaction was justified. I'm sorry.

I'm being hypocritical? So if she does something wrong, it is okay for me to hit her? Or to act like a child? What happened to being civilized?

Are you a woman or a man? B/c it sounds like you're just as needy, whiny, and pathetic as Tizyler's gf or ex-gf is. If you can't handle your Sig-O talking to someone for a half an hour of the opposite sex, how do you expect one to socialize in a normal society? Jealous much? There's nothing a woman could say that should make a man hit a woman. Vice versa. He can press charges against her for battery for getting slapped. It's called keeping your sh!t in check. The only one out of control and out of touch with reality is her. Period.

Considering that he was drunk enough to not know what he said to her, I'm not putting a lot of faith in the accuracy of his story. But if he's gonna stick with it, then he ought to be ready to take a good hard look at BOTH sides. If he can't do that, then blaming her might be fun, but not very useful, since she's not here to talk to.

Haven't you learned yet? No matter what a woman does, it's always the man's fault. That's what sixone is trying to explain. It's all your fault she hit you.

I don't think so, and I never said I did. You get her in this thread, and I'll be happy to say a few things to her about it, after hearing her version of the story. Maybe she remembers more about what you did and said than you do, or are willing to admit.

Btw, I didn't know there was a b1tch-slap option in Halo?

it really does not matter. whatever he said it did not justify her assaulting him.

same as there is no justification if he hit her. NONE.

I knew I should not have said that I was "too drunk to remember"
I was utterly shocked when it happened. I did not expect to get hit in the head by my girlfriend. It wasn't that what I said was something horrible to her, but in my opinion, it shouldn't matter either way.

I'm sure I said something like "what's your problem?", but I'm hesitant to put that, because I'm not 100%.

what's it like being a bitch?

It's great. You get to slap your BF in bars for no reason! I would know!

Especially if your BF goes crying to an internet message board, instead of calling the police.

FWIW, after I left, she kept calling me over and over because "our ride was there".

I was outside smoking and ignoring her while I waited for my cab. She came out and tried to convince me to go with her (she wanted to stay the night with me), I just told her no and waited for my ride.

She was completely over the whole thing in about 5 minutes flat.

You think I should have called the police? I don't. I think breaking up will do just fine.

I think you are the one crying right now.

I don't understand how you could perceive that I was acting like an idiot.

I was having a conversation with my boss, nothing more.
If I can't stay sober? It was a Christmas party, and you're criticizing me for drinking?

You were drunk enough that you didn't notice that she was waiting for you to finish your conversation and get back to her, and then you don't even know what you said to her about it. But you sure remember being sarcastic immediately afterwards, don't you?

If you can't handle your liquor better than that, you shouldn't drink.

Sorry, maybe I didn't quite explain it right.

I knew she probably was a little bothered that I hadn't been talking to her--although I was fairly engrossed with the conversation with my boss, and she was talking to a friend, so it didn't seem like a big deal to me.

The reason she hit me originally, was probably just because she had been building up anger during the whole thing, which I wasn't aware of. When my boss finally left, she just kind of blew up--I doubt that what I said originally had any affect on the situation (I imagine it would have happened, regardless of what was said).

here's an idea,

why not call her, find out what the hell happened, and then move on. If you don't remember what you said (selective memory), then maybe you really did say something patently retarded. It certainly wouldn't be the first time in the history of the male/female relationship that someone uttered something stupid at the perfectly incorrect time.
