it's been at 3.2Mb/s or so at my parent's place for a year or so. but word is they are bumping things to 4 Mb/s.

Last night, I was 3mbps. My modem got powercycled by a power failure this morning, I'm 4.1 now.

/me celebrates by downloading...

(note: I am not downloading anything illegal. I am downloading.... Uhhh... Linux ISOs. Yeah, that's it. alt.binaries.linux)

I only get 1.2 mb download, even though I'm supposed to get 1.5. I hate North Dakota, everything is slower here, and I doubt quest will update my dsl anytime soon.

I think Comcast is rolling out the Silver & Gold Tier packages (4mb down / 384 up - 6mb down / 768 up) in most major markets by Jan 26th.

yup.. they've upgraded my connection... downloading max at 730 kb/sec and uploading max at 80 kb/sec.. woohooo.. this is somewhat close to the optonline connectoin i used to have...

powercycled my modem when i got the comcast email, now it registers as ~3.5 consistently on speed tests. fine by me!
