I got 7.9mb/s on bandwidth place.

I got 6 mb/s down, 103 kb/s up. Doesn't that seem fishy?

i edited the pic to take out my ip so it was down for like 2seconds. try again.

And i've been getting about 480kb/s on most of my downloads, just noticed this today. and KPSH thats awesome, sometimes bandwidth place does beef up the results a little, but i've always found dslreports to be a little slower than actual, so just average them.

yeah but wouldn't 100kb/s upload be considered slow? ISP promises 10MB down/1MB up. I am on a router though.

I had about a 20-30 burst of 1.5MB/s from the newsgroups the other day. Yes, megabyte, as in 12 megabit. When I saw it, and it was sticking for that half a minute I was thinking "This is totally sweet!" and then it dropped back down to 3megabit. :( I have TimeWarner RR.

That sounds about right, that's 125KB/sec.

I'm sorry I really don't know how this works. Wouldn't 1mb up=1000kbs? I guess this is considered fast though judging from other's results. However, I can't wait for Verizon FIOS!

I presume you have Optimum Online, so... 1megabit = 1000 kilobits = 125 kilobytes

So when you account for overhead, that seems about right.
