Yeah, shoot the yellowpages. I bet it'll go through at least 8 of them taped together. We found out that 9mms will only go through 4 Charlotte yellow pages, but we shot at 8 yellowpage phonebooks taped together with a 7.62x51 round and we couldn't find where it went. We found the entry hole but couldn't figure out where it went. It wasn't in the 8 phonebooks though. We shot it from about 20 yards away.

Here are some of the finer guns in my collection, IMHO:

Beretta 20 gauge over/under shotgun
Colt Officer's model, .45 ACP
Para-Ordnanca LDA 7.45, .45 ACP
Smith &amp; Wesson model 629, .44 Magnum

I have some inexpensive guns as well but I don't really see any need to add more cheap guns to my collection. I'd rather save up and get something nice. 😀

There are several variants you likely find at the show, the original 1891 model, pre-1938, with a hexagonal receiver and a plain front post sight. 91/38 model (1938) has a rounded receiver and a shorter barel with a hooded fron sight. There is a 1910 model carabine which is somewhat rare. Finally, there is a M1944 model carabine with a folding hexagonal bayonet attached which can be found in new or like new condition. This particular model was also manufactured in Poland and Bulgaria after WWII. Any of those models can be found for under $100.00. I personally own two: 1903 year model with now archaic "arshin" measurement sights and a 1938 year rifle which in addition to Tula arsenal markings has Finnish military SA markings indicating that it was captured by Finns during the Winter War and pressed into service.

Yup 😀 These guns are easy to maintain and virtually indestructible. Makes a good hunting rifle too due to it's caliber, good accuracy, and smooth trigger. They were built to be soldier-proof. I remember my grandfather telling me how when he was in WWII, he and his buddis would dump their semi-auto (some full auto) SVT's in favor of MN at first chace..

Interesting. I knew the SVTs had some reliability problems but I didn't think they were that bad.

I currently have 12 mosins myself (I think 😕 ). The only remarkable ones are a 1897 Tula Finn M39 and a Tula M44.
