Here's how the election should be decided....

It's clear to me....that Gore has the smarter advisors right now....Which set of advisors do you want helping the President.....

Ok....Gore is in......

You think anyone on Gores side will continue to be his advisors? Ha, thats doubtful, his advisors make more money now(the lawyers, the ones really doing everything) than they ever would being his lackies in the White House.

Well, not quite......"most votes" counts manual recounts, misguided votes in Palm Beach, and.....and.....

If we could just ask all 5.9 million who they "tried" to vote for....but yeah, I know that isn't possible.....

The way it will be decided is legally, or by one candidate conceding. The hyperboly on both sides is sickening. Trying to maintain that a dimpled chad is a vote is pushing too far. Calling subjective or unobjective the hand examination of ballots in the presence of witnesses from both sides according to legally defined procedures to enclude ballots that were punched, but which did not register by machine because the chad reblocked the hole is absurd. There will be a legal opinion rendered on deadlines, butterfly ballots, etc. The results now can never be fair because the vote is close and many votes may have been mistakenly cast, but they can be legal and final. It is quite probable that the exit polls were right in the first place, people reported voting for Gore but voted for Bucannon. There have been no claims of fraud, the election will not be stolen. If Gore wins the majority of voters will be happy. If Bush wins a minority of voters will be happy. Gore probably did win Florida but may not get the most counted votes. We will see. What I think we can put to bed is the notion that Bush is a man of cnaracter.

I think that NRA member George Bush would take that deal.

Not a good idea. Reflex speed has been corolated to intelligence. Bush is a dead man in a duel with Gore.

<< Manual recounts probably have an even higher rejection rate >>

Probably? I thought that manual recounts were considered a more accurate means of counting votes and that's why states use them in close elections.

I just want the most accurate count of the votes. Period. If manual recounts give that, then use the manual recounts.

It just gets more and more interesting....CNN says that USA Today is reporting significantly more absentee ballots have been received ALREADY:

<< The newspaper USA Today on Wednesday quoted county election officials as saying they had already received 4,039 absentee ballots in 65 of Florida's 67 counties, a big increase from the 2,300 mail-in ballots counted in the 1996 presidential election.

Counting of absentee ballots -- which have traditionally been mostly Republican but could tip to the Democratic side because of high interest in the election by Americans living in Israel -- is due to begin on Saturday.

It was also reported last night that 3 ships overseas had mail ballots that had not been picked up ( one is a carrier out of Jacksonville ). A plane was dispatched to fly the ballots to the US. There were no numbers reported as to how many ballots were involved.

Interesting......I wonder when the ballots were filled out....I thought the overseas ballots had to be postmarked by November 7, Election Day.

Easily manipulated by a highly placed official in the Israeli postal service.
