No. Send it to me.

No, I did get stuck in a later point in the game (rescue prophet before he freezes his ass off scene). They resolved it in a patch. Have you updated?

Actually...scratch that. I DID get stuck there once. Basically all you have to do is proceed on as if you were given instructions to do so. You head up the creek next until you get to a cave. Prophet is supposed to be outside the cave and give you some dialog then you both head in. Just go into the cave and it will trip whatever event to go to the next level.

Careful heading up that creek (the game won't warn you of this since your'e seeing that bug). You'll stay on the right side of it and come across several squads of troops. Be prepared for the noise of combat to draw the next squad your direction so displace a bit after the firefight then hunker down and wait. Watch out for single troops/squads across on the left side of the creek. You'll get some unexpected shots from a long distance if you're not careful. Binocular scan that left side frequently as you move upstream.

I liked the game, especially since I would devote hours at a time to really get into the world.

But there is a lot of "surgical striking" on squads, then having to bail out and sit somewhere and wait.. (as you would in the real world). Crysis is filled with alot of walking through the jungle, coming up on a squad, take them out, walk some more.. There is alot of actionless movement that just seems like work.

Warhead should fix that, because apparently you are on a side of teh island that is much more densely populated with enemies so its more STRENGTH/SPEED then cloaking... Apparently cloaking won't get you nearly as far in this new version, since you are constantly fighting (like COD MP)

Heh, no I haven't updated...I'll try to just get to where I need to go once I try the level again.
I'll reinstall Crysis in the near future, I'm waiting for the Mechwarrior: Living Legends mod. :)

Just got it loaded for the first time and played for 30 min or so. The suit controls are going to take a bit to get used to I think. Reminds me a lot of farcry, obviously, but I think I will enjoy it.

I disagree with this. I thought COD4 should have been at least twice as long as it was. I played through it in a single afternoon. Crysis took several days to complete, then I did it again in DX10 after installing Vista.

To those saying it runs like crap: turn your damn settings down. On medium settings at native resolution, this game still looks better than Oblivion.

i found it just whatevers. i suppose hype kills everything. oh and the fact it was often a slide show on my P4 AGP system was a huge factor. i suppose if you got the hardware to run it looking pretty, i guess its worth seeing what the big deal is about. the core game itself, the gameplay, and storyline wasn't all that interesting. but i haven't been impressed or interested at all by any of the highly acclaimed fps single player modes. they're all same at the core imo. i guess i'm just more of a mulitplayer fps junkie.

Yes. The same thing happened to me. It kind of killed any Crysis buzz I was feeling...

I had that exact same thing happen to me. What I did was use devmode and the F keys to skip to the checkpoint right outside the village and before the jungle. It then gave me all the proper instructions and map indicators.

My roommate still plays the game whenver he gets time, and plays through some of the center assault missions, just because there are so many different ways to go about it.

This is why I think FarCry 2 will be much better. There will be no aliens or trigens to stop the fun. Just you against people right through the entire game in 50 sq km of open ended gameplay to do whatever you like, whenever you like, however you like.

I think I like.... :D

thats because you're walking around the "open ended" landscape with nothing to do for 1/4 of the game. take out those parts and it would be just as long as cod4.

Sounds good. I've played through the parts where I get to fight Koreans many times over, but the alien parts are just boring and frustrating.

After reading so many critiques, I have pretty much come to the conclusion that people who love open ended game play (you don't have to do things the exact way they are scripted out) love the game, and those who like to play the game like it is a movie (follow the script) don't like the game.I think the second group outnumbers the first, which is probably why we don't have many open ended games like this on the market.

Absolutely. I found it to be excellent with my 7800GT, but once I got my 4870 I just had to play through it again with some heavy eye candy.

I did the same when I upgraded.

Play through the game in a day, admire the eye candy, show it to friends who haven't seen good graphics, uninstall. Forget it ever happened a week later.

It is fun to throw on god mode, beef up the suit (faster run speed, higher strength mod, etc...) and play through the game with the grenade launcher using an Xbox 360 controller ;)

You can't beat the fun factor of an open-ended game though. :D
