Hey, and it only cost ~$600. Too bad you can't get a regular computer to do the exact same thing for less. :p

In his case, $450. And you get to play GT HD!

Ahh, Blu-ray is a good point. The HDMI to me is interchangeable with VGA though.

$450 is actually quite good. And yay, a single player tech demo. :p But you can still play other games on it which is cool.

You're missing the point. People were asking why do this. Well the $600 has already been spent. Now it's time to try and get your money's worth. Part of that, I guess is installing Linux.

I believe people are using NES/SNES emulators in linux, dunno much about em yet as i havent tried. Also, not sure if the controller works.

On a side note, i love how my bluetooth headset pairs with the console...

They will and more. Since its easy to install linux(and allowed by sony) there will be a ton of support for homebrew on ps3.

Its the same ROMs, just emulators that are ported or written for linux, of which there are many already. Im not sure about using the ps3 controller for linux, but I have no doubt someone can easily write a driver for it or at the very least you can just use a regular PC USB controller.

Actually if you want it only for that you should wait a while for the homebrew to get started and mature. Plus there might be a price cut or something.

Considering I'm getting married in about 4 weeks, i don't really think dating has any applicability to this thread. We actually picked up the license this morning from the courthouse.
