So I'm gonna install linux on my notebook...how can I get wireless on that?

I'll buy another wireless adapter if need to, but I've yet to see drivers that support linux, more specifically ubuntu.
 
Intel's wireless is generally crap with free systems. They don't care about their customers. Find an RALink based adapter. I got a D-link G-122 (Hardware rev. B1), and it works great.
