That may sound like a joke but it happened to me.. I found out my ex was cheating on me and, I was going to dump her.. But during the mopey "How could you!" stage she DUMPED ME and hooked up with a third guy (not the guy she was screwing around with).. So instead of just feeling upset that she cheated on me, I felt like a major loser for getting dumped.. Quick.. Save your dignity and dump her!
