That's when my boss started (and me too)
We cleaned it up quite nicely I think
Zoo a la carte is Aug 17 - 20 if you want to eat some good food and listen to some bands while you look at the animals

Ha I KNEW it was Milwaukee Zoo ("ZOO" looked familiar on your shirt before I read the post). Totally underrated zoo imo. I used to live in Milwaukee back when I was in HS, and visited the zoo many many many times. (at least once a week w/ pass in the summer). The geese sure crap up the shore on Lake Evinrude. How's the cats program going? Seems like there was a new litter of snow leopards every year.
I also work in animal care. Aquarium, in my case (but we also have mammals, birds and herps). I had looked into working at the new Discovery World on the pier in downtown Brewtown, but that kinda fell through.
The cats have their new building now and it looks pretty darn good now. I still wish they had more space, but they have a lot more room than they used to. I think they're down to one snow leopard now unless they're hiding one in the back somewhere.
We have to go into the Snow Leopard exhibit every once in a while to water the grasses. The zookeepers were supposed to do all the inside work for the exhibits, so it's quite annoying when we have to try to coordinate with them on when we can go inside.
How do you like the Aquarium job?

So you're life support or horticulture? Aside from pay and the evil corp. that bought out our aquarium, the work itself is fine..but the employer blows, hence the looking for other jobs. I must say that I'm rather attached to my sea turtles, sharks and rays. I'm head on several exhibits ranging from a few thousand gallon s up to 1/3-million gallons. As well as some herps (rattlesnakes, dart frogs, etc...I get all the venomous stuff it seems).
Here's a few pictures that I've snagged over the years from there (HS, and returning visits to the folks).

I gotta say though, My curators would be PISSED if they knew I posted pictures of deceased animals...much less endangered ones.

I like the post. And the zooooo.
Sucking up poop on the vac-all's not that bad. I got to take the pictures of the dump on a trip to empty the vac-all, and that's always really fun.![]()
