Virginia Beach is only a couple hours away, and I also know a girl down there (I think), but I dont feel like making the trip. I think I'll just Nef.

I would just like to know where the hell all the ammo is?
Over the past couple of years were heard that it was because of the war (fair enough).
Know what is the holdup.
I bought 500 rounds for my SKS at the first of last year for about 80 bucks.
They were selling SKS ammo for $130 for 300 rounds. That is almost .50 a shot
Is there somekind of "lets limit the ammo" movement going on?

Even the seemingly endless supply of Mosin-Nagants is being dried up across most of the wholesalers. :Q

Virginia gun show is the bomb.... i got my sks for really really really cheap, about 3 years ago. got 1000 rounds of wolf ammo... probably only used about 100 at the local outdoor range. range is about an hour away so I don't go as often. i want to get another one when the price goes down and replace the stock with a dragunov kit.
Same here. I actually went to the show looking for a dragunov. Saw 2 there both were in good condition with the scope but the started at $899.
I bought a Yugi SKS unissued still in cosmoline for $169 last summer.
They didn't have any SKS yesterday other than I saw one Norinco that looked like my 5 year old had redone the stock and he wanted $499
Hope they come back down.

I've been looking for an M44 to go alongside my 91/30 sniper and they are definitely getting harder to find.

You don't buy a Dragunov for $900. $3,000+ for a real Dragunov. If you're talking about the Romanian version, you can find them in a nice package for $799 here: http://www.classicarms.us

I find all the paranoia about Obama banning guns to be pretty funny, but weird.
He and the Dem leadership have made ZERO moves and very little statements for gun control. They have much bigger fish to fry and going after guns would just be a distraction.
But, this hasn't stopped the NRA from going after Obama during the election, or rumors spreading about non-existent gun control laws.
Personally, I think that some very smart, but devious people in the gun rights movement have been spreading false rumors about Obama "TAKING OUR GUNZZZZ!!!" in order to get all the gun nuts to go out and stock up on guns an ammo.

the lack of concern on your part about this is rather appalling.

Hmm, maybe the Gun companies realized the potential of the Gillette razor scheme - sell the handle for cheap while the blades are big $$$. Guns cheap, bullets expensive, sounds profitable no?

I said this in another thread.
A very very close family friend owns a gun story and loves all the hoopla the right has made about Obama, the end of the world, and guns.
He is rolling in the dough because people are so paranoid they are willing to pay way over value on used guns.
It has gotten so ridiculous he told me one guy made a comment that he was buying guns yet wasn't sure how he was going to pay for heat if the winter got really bad.
I hope his daughters were able to keep warm from all the comfort in knowing their dad had a full arsenal.
