he doesn't come home crying, but when he looks sad and I ask him, he starts crying. One time a kid spit on him and he came home crying, but he finally gave us a name.

The reason i'm not sure if he's too sensitive or whether he is being bullied is because he has a history of taking things the wrong way. I would tell him "don't use the computer too much, it'll hurt your eyes" and he'll cry and say that I told him not to use the computer anymore. So really, I can't tell if he is just over reacting and mis interpreting child play for bullying

I totally commend your actions. The OP tried negotiating with them but when they threatened violence, he did what any other reasonable person would do - defend themselves and the ones they care about. I would have done the same thing, regardless of how old they are.

I grew up in Australia too (Sydney) until I was 17 so I know all about how racist the people there are - strange thing is that it's not only your typical white folks that are racists. Back when I was at school, I would get picked on (ironically) by the Greeks, Lebanese, etc...
