So I was given a fifth of rum as a present. . .

If it's standard rum (bacardi, etc), just mix it with almost anything you like. Cola's, juice, etc. If it's premium rum, sip it straight on the rocks, or put it in the freezer and drink it ice cold.

that's what I forgot to buy at my recent trip to the liquor store!
Need me some Sailor Jerry's Rum. That stuff is absolutely delicious.

mmm rum, sailor jerry or 100 proof captain is the way to go.

just throw it in some coke & ice and youll be set

One of my co-workers brought me a bottle of Rum from the Dominican Republic that had some sticks or maybe sugar cane in it. That stuff would floor you in 5 shots.

Adding it to soda would cause the same reaction as adding a scoop of ice cream to root beer. Delicious, but it was very weird.

Anyways, drink rum straight and be a badass pirate or drink it with soda and be lame.

If I'm gonna use rum with a mixer, it'll be fruit juices, NEVER soda pop.

I have a couple of favorite recipes that use Malibu, a couple that use Malibu, Light rum, dark rum, Meyers rum, and 151...

BUT, here's a site with a couple of different recipes:

What kind of rum? That'll help determine how to drink it.

A good dark rum can just be had on the rocks IMO.

Clear rum like Bacardi is good for mixing with coke.

Captain Morgan spiced rum is good with Coke also.

I was going through Meijers the other day and I noticed that a half gallon of Bacardi Gold was $23. Damn, that's a lot of cheap buzzes.

If you like Pina Coladas, and getting caught in the rain.
If you're not into yoga, if you have half-a-brain.
If you like making love at midnight, in the dunes of the cape.
You're the love that I've looked for, come with me, and escape.
