....and thought I'd do some grocery shopping. I headed into a food lion and grabbed a cart...bought picked up a loaf of bread and some diet coke... Then it hit me. I realized it was 8:00pm and I hadn't eaten anything since lunch. So I thought, I'll check the deli. They didn't have much...just a couple of boxes of cold fried chicken. I grabbed a 4 piece box and thought, "what would go good with chicken?" Then it hit me...I headed to the beer section and grabbed a nice cold 24oz can of Coors Light. I hit the checkout in full force to pay and get out of there. I got in my car, ripped open the chicken and cracked into the cold beer. I then started my car up and headed down the road doing 25 mph through the ghetto...eating cold fried chicken and drinking beer. That's when it hit me.....my life kicks @ss! It was a great feeling. :)

1. Collect beer and cold chicken
2. Cruise
3. ?????#*#???
4. PROFIT!

Oh yeah, because one beer makes a person sooooo drunk, right?

In the fight against drunk driving, we have lost all reason.

In California atleast, it's enough fines and insurance hikes to make your life suck ass.

The real question here is. Do the tires/wheels/rims on your car cost more than the car itself??? that would make it truely ghetto-fabulous.

I didn't say it wasn't against the law. I mearly pointed out how reactionary, rather than reasonable it is to condemn someone for having A beer in a car.

it could. i have a friend who's pretty much heavily buzzed after 2 beers. then again he's like 130 lbs and has a low tolerance for alcohol. but my point is that it is possible.

You lose someone to a drunk driver and then you tell me how YOU feel about ANY alcohol and driving. /thread

I feel for your loss. However, that does not excuse overreactions that cost innocent people their freedoms.

In no way will one beer make an average sized person too drunk to drive. In fact, one beer wont even put the vast majority any where near the laughingly low "legal limit."

Ask yourself what the BAC was of this person who took your loved one. Then ask yourself why you over react and point fingers even at ridiculously low BAC numbers?

Ok, so change the laws to say 1-2 beers is ok for men who weigh 125-140 lbs, 3-4 for 140lb, etc etc..you see where this becomes an issue? Who is to say what is the allowable amount then for every driver?

You cannot justify drinking and driving, period.

Meh, going to a Chargers game last year my Step Dad and I were sitting in traffic on the exit for the stadium so we cracked a beer in the car.

No big deal.

That's about the extent of my law breaking activities though.

are you saying we should allow people to slurp beer while driving as long as they promise to have "just one"? or maybe two... hell, have 3 because you know you are still OK to drive.
OP shouldn't have had a beer in the vehicle while he was driving. period. alcohol impairs ability.
