Me too 1982ish to about 1986. I had the original basic, expert and AD&D stuff that someone thought was to be sold at a later moving sale....once I get some free time I will replace them all....used book stores/thrift stores have these a lot of times cheap...some though know they are collectible and mark them up big time.

We played loosely not overly strict....I think the latest rules are more lax and enjoyable. I'd imagine with a good PC client the game can be more automated and fun.

It can be! The Temple of Elemental Evil is an amazing game (uses 3rd edition rules) OMFG! WE HAVE TO STOP!
