And, once you break through the skin, the internal resistance of a body is incredibly low compared to the skin. I'd bet you actually could kill someone with current produced by a 12 volt battery, so long as the leads were inserted through the skin, say to a cut on each hand.

Alligator clips to ear lobes on piercings would show a very low resistance.

I'm not so sure about that... doesn't the skin sort of heal to be similar to a donut, ie skin through the center? Perhaps we should find a volunteer to test this theory with a 12V battery :)

Not sure on the current, but it was a main feed to a school we are are building.

<<<<Not an electrician

It's not the voltage that kills ya, it's the current.
Don't kid yourself.
It's ALSO the voltage.
Neither are negotiable in an accident.
Not really..

Voltage doesen't matter, unless it's too low to pierce the resistance of your skin.

60V could kill you, so could 60,000V.. But only if the amperage is high enough.

12V, however, could not kill you regardless of amperage.. unless maybe you stuck it in your eyeballs or something.

ouch lol

Between the ears is lowest. A fresh piercing with a stapler should do it. :Q

Where do you live that the main feeder is 600V? Most homes have 240 single phase and business in the US have a 480/277V 3P 4W system. Industrial may have 480V delta.

Electricity makes your muscles contract, not jump wildly. I know that b/cuz I grabbed 220v electric water heater thing and I couldnt let go for 10 + secs :p

Everybody says the same thing. "Its not the volts that kill you..blah blah blah" Has anybody here ever seen a main feed 600 Volt that did not have a ton of amps possible through it? Think about it.
