So what is their purpose to humans? You can't eat them, can you?

They don't need to have a purpose to humans, other animals arn't on earth to be manipulated by humans for entertainment. Just let them be.

You do realize if we went by your thought process, there would be no domesticated meats or horses or dogs or cats or anything called a pet. Most animals would have gone extinct because we kill them for food without thought of domestication.

please keep your trolling and self idiological views to yourself.

If he wants to have the beta's fight, let him have the beta's fight. His damn fun, it's not like he's killing a human or anything, and it is just using it's natural instincts... Not like he's putting it in there with any thing stimulating angry behavior.

No, not at all, but when we're talking about a wholly non-endangered fish with a tiny brain which comes from multiple generations bred in captivity for the entertainment of the owners (watching it swim around, or watching it fight), I can't really bring myself to care about whether some guy on the internet, who I can't affect in any meaningful way, is potentially killing his.

The entertainment of humans > The life of a fish

Whatever dude, that's a pretty fvcking stupid thing to say, but whatever floats you boat. I just want you to know that once you go to hell that there is going to be a colosseum full of beta fish spectators watching you and the OP fight to the death. But it's cool though, becuase the entertainment of fish> the life of a human. ;)

Stop making assumptions (which by the way are YOUR "self ideological" views). There's nothing wrong with eating animals or having them as pets, but I'm sure if the OP posted that he was going the kick his dog in the face for his entertainment that you would not have a problem with it.

The shorttails have the advantage. They might actually lose, but most of hte time the long tails will look worse for wear since you can tell the difference.

Soccerman isn't poking the beta fish with needles. If the fish wants to fight, let it.

Usually both end up dying anyways. The stronger one literally tears the weaker one to pieces, but often the strong one is too damaged to live much longer anyways.

Hah, didn't see that. Just trying to make a point and I'm done now. But like I said, do what you want.

no Greenpeace Pussies or the "Treat Everything as Equals" people please, for peet sake dont whine about something you wouldnt do because it's "cruel" in your opinion.
Well, aren't you a tough guy?

I'd be happy to punch you in the face well past the cruel point which would be way past your whine point. It's still not cool to abuse animals for your jollies, ya sick fvck.

Thats kinda messed up. I never let mine fight to the point of death, just when there is a clear winner.

You know me and a buddy did this once in college. We had a community fish tank and everyone bought random fishes. Well, me and a friend bought red and blue betas. Mine was the blue one, named Jesus. His was named Satan. We dumped them into the tank with all the other fishes (about 10 in total.) Jesus and Satan duked it out, but poor jesus...he lost. :( However, victory was his in the end as the next day a plauge swept the tank and killed everyones fish. I like to think Jesus won in the long run.

Anyway, thats my fish story.

Why? Beta fish have no purpose aside from killing other fish. It's not like he's forcing the fish to kill either.
