So I raised my voice, borderline yelled at, neighbor kid. Am I wrong?

Do you have kids?

Normal volume: Kid, please stop doing that.
*blank stare*

Normal volume again: Kid, please stop doing that, it isn't nice.
*blank stare*

YELLING: STOP DOING THAT!
*kid stops doing that*

so you been around my son eh? lol

I have 3 volume settings with my kids. 1 is normal voice. 2 is a little louder (witch always works with my daughter) but hell my son? sometimes when he is doing something he doesn't notice anything else around him. lol

The little bastard thinks he has some say in the matter because his old man is a bully too. What you need to do is kick the old man's ass in front of his kid. Done deal.

Situation: Three boys (my son and 2 neighbor kids) are playing basketball in my back yard. Neighbor kid1 gets mad and tackles neighbor kid2. Neighbor kid2 hits the tackling kid1. I break it up and ask tackling kid1 to go home two times (kid2 who hit him was grabbed by his mom and taken inside, as she was outside with my wife and I). During my first 2 requests to have kid1 go home, kid1 tries to explain why he shouldn't have to leave and what happened from his perspective. I raise voice, borderline yelling, during the "request to leave #3" and tell kid1 very firmly (straight on eye contact...dad stare) to go home NOW!

Outcome: Kid1's dad gets upset and comes to talk to me. He states he doesn't yell at his kids and doesn't want me to. I tell him I have no tolerance for kids who generally don't respect other supervising adults. All the boys involved are 8 years old. Was I wrong to raise my voice to a kid who can't follow simple instructions after being told twice what to do? My wife thinks so and I do not.

My general opinion is it's my house, my rules, and if you don't want me to raise my voice you can follow my instructions the first time they are given. Kid or adult, it really doesn't matter to me. Also, kid1's dad is welcome to get his lazy ass outside and help supervise the kids, because he pretty much stays inside 95%+ of the time while we supervise his kid. If he was available to help supervise, I'd gladly let him handle his own kid when crap like this happens, as I have two of my own boys to worry about and discipline if necessary.

That's it. If the kid doesn't follow instructions, he deserves a firm talking to. Tell his dad to fuck off. I have three kids and their friends are over all the time. Most of the have quiet wishy-washy pansy parents who never raise their voice, but if they get out of line in my house they get my wrath. If their parents don't like it they can keep the kids at their house.

Kids these days are spoiled and treated like royalty and it shows with the kids and how they respond to adults.

I was out with a friend's family one time (kids are similar ages). They have this little brat kid, he was probably 5 at the time. He is always acting out violently and the parent always say "no no don't do that" real soft and nice like. I always get rage built up as I watch this kid and the parents interact. So one time he hurts my boy (doing something dumb and on purpose) and I grabbed him by the arm, bent down and starred him in the eyes and said "Don't ever do that again" or something, I didn't yell I just stated it. Well he runs off and cries and his parents start babying him and tell me I was too hard on him or something. I snapped (the raaaage), I started cussing at his parents and telling them that their kid is way out of line and they need to handle it, be a fcking parent already. What did I get after my rant? "Sit down, relax, have a beer" all nervous like. They didn't even put up a defense. Maybe they got the message...
