yea it does have a front panel with the headphone jack. i removed it since i barely used it and i dont mind unplugging the speaker cable and inserting the headphone cable.

but even if i were to use the front panel, it doesn't make my headphones sound anybetter (than they already do)

Don't know about better, and how would you if you haven't tried it, but probably louder. I have the same sound set up as you (2 ZS Platinum Pro + HD 555s), but there's no way anyone would listen at 100% volume on these. I can't find any info, but for all I know there's a headphone amp built in.

Just for shits and giggles, I turned them up to 100%, and my wife heard them across the room.

My hearing's been beaten and battled by 31 yrs. in a steel mill, and I listen at 20 - 30% volume.

Just wanted to let ya know, there is a low cost volume solution.
