So I named my son after a video game character.

Edge was also the ninja in Final Fantasy IV... therefore you better train him in the stealthy arts, Missah Spyder.

I thought you just wanted him to have the same initials as your favorite electronics company NEC.

Well, as a middle name that's not bad. Now if that was his first name, I'd tell you that you were an idiot. But having a cool middle name works.

If he would of been a girl he would of been Mya Azel. Mia was my original choice for a girl (Mia from Lunar the Silver Star) but the wife changed that to Mya. Azel is from PDS too.

My buddy always gives me the U2 jokes... I hate U2. Well, Bloody Sunday is ok, and One is ok. :)

That was my thought too. We didn't want to get crazy with the first name, we figured a unique middle name wouldn't be hard to live with.

 That's one of my favorite RPG of all time. So if you have a daughter would you give her middle name Azel?

I understood what you meant. :) Like I said, I think it being a middle name isn't going to be a big deal for him.

Also, I hope that your kid grows up with good enough spelling skills to teach you the proper spelling of the word character. ;)

I am in the middle about this. Edge isn't exotic or mean enough to really warrant any response. If your son tells someone his middle name is edge, all he'd get is a "really?" It's not like you gave him "Shirley" as a middle name. You also didn't give him an awesome name either. So good job on giving him an interesting name.

Also, when you need to be more creative when you are giving out funky names. Nobody will question who you named your son, Bono, after. But naming him Edge is almost like naming him Robert then claiming it's after Robert Redford. Or is it Robert Lee? Or Robert DeNiro? There are plenty of Edge's, like the wrestler for one.

my son is named after a book character from one of my faves. the character was the kings protector, as well as a blond haired mage warrior. his middle name is rey, meaning king. he is cool with that. my oldest daughter name means "river runs freely", and is a perfect description of her personality. that was totally a coincidence tho.

Sorry, I'll try harder next time. :p I wasn't going for something 'out there'... we didn't know what to name him when we were pregnant so I just thought of names I know from different things. I've always been in to gaming so that just seemed like a natural source of names for me. I liked it, the wife liked it, so we went with it.
