So I just watched Unbreakable...

It was...interesting. I like M. Night Shyamalan movies in general (Sixth Sense, The Village, etc.), but I have mixed feelings about this one. The movie felt like it kept building and building, but then suddenly just ended. It never really went anywhere. I liked the symbolism in the Sixth Sense more. Samuel L. Jackson had a funky wardrobe in the movie, too. I thought the audio was really good...I think that's what made the movie more personal, you could hear everything from the rustling of clothes to the orange juice glass filling up. I'd say it's worth a watch if you have a free evening 🙂

Care to discuss?

I think they could have really taken the story places. It's hard to believe it was over an hour and a half long. They could have squeezed all that down into a half hour and added more stuff, imo.

i liked unbreakable because it wasnt a punchline-dependent film like the others he has done. i dig comics, though.
ive heard that unbreakable was to be the first in a trilogy but because it didnt do well, he didnt make any more.
that annoys me... he talked about how important the project was for him to complete personally and then bailed when it wasnt a gravy train.
hopefully the m. night backlash of the village will spur him to work on another unbreakable.

It didn't end because there were supposed to be 3 movies. But this one tanked so that whole idea was scrapped.

I think his movies suck.

Hated The Village, Sixth Sense, Signs, and don't want to see another crappy movie.

What didn't you like about the Sixth Sense? That's one of my favorite movies! The Village I can understand, because the commercials made it look like a scary movie, and I haven't seen Signs yet.

That really disappoints me. I would have paid for another one or two. 🙁

All his movies are creepy but in a retarded way.

Not really horror films but I don't know. Wierd...

yeah, I like how he makes them just on the edge of almost-believable and you get sucked into the story. this one spit you out at the end tho 🙁

I liked his other movies but thought this movie was a steaming pile of poo.

I just watched Anchorman. That was a godawful flick if there ever was one.

Signs was crap? I've heard mixed reviews.

I kind of like the Village, it got me thinking a bit. But it was one of those watch it once and you're done movies.

Fixed. Seriously, M. Night is the most over-hyped director. Evar.

I think he does a good job doing non-traditional movies. It's nice to have a change from the same old plots. I think half of the movies in Hollywood are based on the original Star Wars and Indiana Jones movies. Same stuff, different people/places/time.

I thought Unbreakable was decent. Not DVD worthy but decent enough that I didn't feel like I wasted 90 minutes of my life and that I wanted them back.

Sixth Sense was a good movie though.

Yup. I liked Signs, too. Haven't seen The Village yet.

Ah, that sums up my feelings on Unbreakable nicely. I don't feel ripped off, but it wasn't a Sixth Sense. Worth a watch.

My bro bought it on DVD. Borrowed it from him 😀
