I'm a Best Buy greeter.

How may I help you?

*update*

So after working for about a month...

I'm growing increasingly irritated, and care less and less each time I go in. When I went in for my interview I specifically said, as well as wrote on my availability sheet, that I cannot come in on Saturdays at any time. The GM of the store who interviewed me said that not working Saturdays was just fine.

Great I thought, a dumb part time job that a chimp can do that will work with my hours

Fast forward to now. They schedule these meetings that are "mandatory" almost every other Saturday from 7:00AM to 9:30AM.

I blew the first one off, and a manager was like "you missed the meeting." I told him I was aware that I missed it, and that if he checked my availability he would see that Saturdays have a big X through them. He tried telling me that it doesnt matter, these are mandatory

This Saturday is another retard meeting in the morning. This time I told the dickhead ahead of time that I have an overtime project at my full time IT job all day (which is true) and I cannot make it. He told me I "have" to be there. Yeah, I'll miss out on OT pay at a good/decent job to drag my ass to Best Buy for 2.5 hours making didly shit. I'll be right there....

On top of that, I checked my next weeks hours last night and they scheduled me for next Saturday evening. Not just a meeting anymore, a full on 8 hour shift. I'm really debating just not showing up...

Oh, and they only sell Cat6 cables. I asked one of our "computer guys" why we dont sell Cat5e and he said "Cat6 is better, I know, I used to work for AT@T" I lol'ed.

I saw that thread, and I'm not even sure if we do or not. Next time I work I'm going to check on it.

I bought this N-150 router and it doesn't even do wireless N. What the hell man? Where's the returns counter?

PS: I was secretly hoping that your post was gonna be that instead of sitting on your butt, you were now shaking it part time for money. So dissappointed.

There's probably better ways to kill some time. Reading? Learning? Gym? Hitting the bong?

As a greeter, would you want customers to greet you back or just ignore you?

I never know which to do.

None of those make money, though.

I'd at least break even with those, as a 'greeter' that's a loss.

Best Buy actually pays people to do that? I assumed they were homeless and did it just to get in out of the rain.

I'd rather you just ignore me.
