My Advice: Don't ask for advice relating to love on an online forum, especially ones that are filled with fat, greasy, single men.

She's been a fiancee for 3 years? Maybe that's the problem.... maybe she just thinks you're stalling.

Be glad it happened now and not after the marriage. Allow her to take her time, but don't just wait around. Be ready to move on, if you have a chance, take it. She'll understand when or if she comes back!

Break means its over.

People in love don't want "breaks"

Move on.

It really is just that simple.

for one thing don't call her/IM her/email her all the time, because absence makes the heart grow fonder.
I thought it was "Absence makes the heart wander."

it definately should be from my experiences

I missed this last month. Sorry to hear about it, and I hope things have gone well for you.

When I got that message after 4 years of dating, I was devistated. We broke up for a few months. When we got back together, I thought I was the happiest person in the world. Seven years later, multiple attempts on her part to "go on a break" again, and now a divorce I see the light. Getting back together after the "break" was the single most stupid thing I could have possibly done in my entire life. I will regret it forever. Note: I'm extremely happy now with someone else.

There is nothing more difficult to deal with than a break up with a loved one. My advice is to keep yourself busy to keep your mind off her. Exercise is a good choice in activity.

oh yea, and hold onto the ring.

this man speaks the truth

Indeed. "Taking a break" is a load of BS. If she doesn't want to be with you, she should say so instead of pulling a cop-out line like that.

Get the ring back and kick her to the curb.

QFT. But if you've been a relationship for 3 years and she "wants a break", that shows up more red flags than over the Kremlin on May Day. I'm not going to necessarily assume that she's having an affair, but some girls get out of a relationship because that "spark" isn't there anymore. They don't understand that a relationship and love is more than a feeling of ecstacy and happiness which you only feel at the VERY BEGINNING of courtship. They think once that feeling's over, it's not the right relationship for them. Girls like that don't realize that that feeling is NEVER going to last with ANYONE. It's about commitment and a more."quiet" form of love as time passes.

Anyway, good luck.

I agree. You just became the fallback guy.

Don't fall for it. Get the ring, end the relationship.

I have never had this happen to me, but every single friend I've had that has had this happen to them the girlfriend wanted to **** another guy but keep him at bay. All but one were smart enough to dumped the hoez when this happened; the one guy that allowed her to of course got back with her, and she ended up burning him again, wasting precious years and thousands of dollars.
