You don't need drugs to have lucid dreams. They actually hinder the experience. Weed prevents one from remembering dreams, stimulants keep you up and depressants make you sleep through them.

Maybe that's why I haven't recalled dreaming in a long long time. :p

I haven't had one in a very long time, but you're right, they're a lot of fun. I remember as soon as I realized it was a dream, my first thought was to do lots of things that would ordinarily kill me. I ran out in the middle of a busy street and was hit by a big truck and went flying through the air, hit the pavement in a nearby parking lot, got up, and ran out to try it again. Then I managed to piss off some guy with a shotgun. He shot me and the blast just knocked me back a few feet.

I need to figure out how to have these more often.

I've had that happen a few times, when it suddenly occurs to me that, "Hey wait, this isn't right. I don't feel right. This is a dream." Some notable times:
A recurring theme used to be being chased by a swarm of bees. Once, I guess there were just too many of them in too coherent of a swarm, and I figured something wasn't right. I just turned around, held up my hand and said, "Stop." The swarm froze and vanished.
The new theme is a person or people chasing me and trying to kill me, and I'm usually in some unfamiliar building. I always have trouble running in dreams, but sometimes I'll find that I can levitate myself. The unbelievability of it, and my fear of heights, makes it difficult to stay focused, so I keep coming back down to the ground. Still, it can be fun to fly around like that.

orgasmic dreams are better.

But I imagine they could get messy, at least for some of us.

Sometimes there's no point to. One of my memories of a dream consisted of seeing the last bit of toilet paper being pulled off of the roll. I wasn't even on the toilet or anything, it's just a disconnected hand pulling the last of the paper off, and it fell freely after that.
That was it. Sometimes they're really just lame. In another one, I saw a wire whose insulation was worn down at one spot. This worried me, and woke me up.

I haven't had a lucid dream in forever, but from what I remember, when you start flying you really have to focus on something to help prevent yourself from waking up.

...I need to find that audio book on lucid dreaming.

My last dream was that my first love and I were back together and we were so happy : (

le sad.

I had a dream the other night, I had just gotten into a fight with someone, and has he was walking away, I spat at him. I then though to myself "man, that was a really realistic dream." I woke up to find my arm and pillow covered with spit. Great.

Yes, I'm that cool.

I was going to post about it, but I figured people would have probably concluded I'm crazy and thought nothing more of it. It happened for the first time in my life @ 22yrs old, about two months ago.

It was absolutely unbelievable, the whole time I knew I was dreaming and knew exactly where I was. At first when I fell into it I thought "holy ******, woah", then I stepped back a bit and realized I was still in bed. Not wanting to lose such a unique experience I quickly attempted to go back in, sure enough it worked. I started off in some obscure stone wall tunnel and moved into a town with rolling hills and very colorful butterflies. But that's not even close to the most amazing part. I walked into some sort of building (with a very nice view might I add), and there was a pair of speakers and CD player. I saw a bunch of CDs, some of which I was familiar with and others not. I could put in ANY CD I chose and the music came out so profound and crystal clear like you couldn't imagine (I kid you not). I could even swap to a song I heard a long time ago but long forgot exactly how it sounded, and it all came back EXACTLY like the actual song. There was no mental effort involved, the music was just streaming out and I was sitting there listening to it. The speakers didn't appear to be of the highest quality yet it didn't seem to negatively affect the sound (cone tweeters, ugh :). It didn't last all that long though, once I slipped out I attempted to get back in but to no avail. Ever since then I hope and I wonder what the ****** happened.

Ok go on, tell me I'm nuts, but I could spend all eternity in there. So much more to explore but I never got the chance, ARGHHHHHHHH.

I had a dream like this once, cept i was swimming off into a endless ocean into the sunset, but i could playback any song perfectly in my head.

You'll know if you have a lucid dream. You have to think "I'm dreaming right now, this is not real" for it to be a lucid dream.

Holy crap, that how most of my dreams start! :Q But also I'm usually dreaming about cs plans...

Tip, wake up in the morning do some random stuff for 1-2 hours. Go back to sleep, you will have a higher chance of lucid dreaming.
2. When you feel like you are about to wake up from realizing that you are aware of your dreaming, look down at your feet and start spinning, this will help you stay in your dream.
3. Set your watch to go off every hour or every few hours and everytime it goes off, ask yourself "am I dreaming?" By adding this to your routine, it will eventually happen in your dream. When it happens in your dream, you will ask yourself "am I dreaming?" Bam, you will realize that you are dreaming and it will become lucid. (apply step 2 if necessary)

Good luck,
LucidDreamer.

look at my post above ^

Here is another tip.

You must train yourself to ask questions. For example, set your watch to go off every hour or every few hours and everytime it goes off, ask yourself "am I dreaming?" By adding this to your routine, it will eventually happen in your dream. When it happens in your dream, you will ask yourself "am I dreaming?" Bam, you will realize that you are dreaming and it will become lucid.

Lucid dreaming, not feeling like you're in a dream. :D :p

Interestingly enough, DMT, the most powerful hallucinogen known to man, is produced naturally in the brain and is widely believed to be the cause of dreams. That's why they seem so real.
It's also theorized that the brain is flooded with the chemical at birth and at death, which explain near-death-experiences so well. The body thinks it's dying, one is in a situation where they are about to die and suddenly the brain is filled with a highly hallucinogenic chemical. I've read a lot about DMT and a L5 trip sounds remarkably like how someone describes a near death experience.

I know what you are talking about. That is one of the absolute scariest kinds of dream you can have. The effect can last for quite some time after you wake up.

I hate it when you have those dreams that leave you with the "mood" all day - bad, scary, whatever. Most of my dreams involve running away from giant spiders (go figure). I'm not even scared of bugs or snakes or anything, which is what makes the dreams weird - I've had every kind of pet and animal you can think of. Oh well, dreams are weird. My wife has really lucid dreams...she can tell me about her dreams for a full hour, move-by-move, like she had just seen a movie. I've had her write a few down in case we ever want to become novelists :D

It was only a couple years ago that I realized it was hard for most people to dream lucidly. I've been doing it for as long as I can remember, and it happens a lot. *shrug*

Valium comes in .5 and 1.0 size so your taking 7 1.0's in one night? That's a lot...one
1.0 makes me drowsy!
