Well, UPDATE:
Just got a call from the hiring manager -- I have the job. In his own words "We really want to get you in here!"
He understands I'm at work right now and thus, he just asked a time he could have a bit of my attention so after work I'll be getting another call and sealing the deal. I think my small negotiation will be successful, because of of the tone and his attitude in the conversation I just had about 5 minutes ago![]()

But you turned down their offer. Don't write that resignation letter just yet. Depending on the company, and how much money they have to throw around, 3 k could bump you out for the guy willing to work for 65k. You just have to wait it out.

Okay, here's the update...
I got the job, they met everything I needed. I lose some benefits in the process because I'm going from a HUGE company to a small one, but it's nothing to write home about...
I start in two weeks. I used to have a 1.5 hour commute EACH way (in the car), now it's 45 minutes on the train, so I can relax while going. The hours are flexible, but I'm opting for a 9-6 schedule so I can get out at a reasonable hour and get to the gym, go out with my girl, etc. I'll be working at a media company in the heart of Times Square. My responsibilities are much the same except with more money and an 8% yearly bonus.
Anyways, that's the jist of it! I'm excited to start, so hopefully this works out well! The new boss I have seems cool and the coworkers seem cool too, so I think I'll fit in well.
