Yeah, I thought the only time those laws were actually enforced was when a rock band pissed the local cops off.

So when the police didn't do anything to those guys at the bar did you go you start cussing them out resulting in the charges against you? Should we look for you on an episode of "Cops?" Was it like a scene from Porky's?

No, that's not what happened actually. I said it was *fvcked* up that they wouldn't go take a report, and he said you cannot use that type of language. So I said, what the word fvck? And then he arrested me.
If that's the way it came down then you were fscked over big time. Don't take this like I don't believe you but I am surprised that the Cops were willing to arrest you, go through the paper work and willing to go to court just because you said fsck twice. I guess they have nothing better to do.

Well I'm not sure their motivation, but I do know that the police told the person that bailed me out that if I wouldn't have said "fvck" I wouldn't have been arrested. Maybe they had a religious conversion or something.

I bet the DA drops the charges against you.

That's certainly what I am hoping for.

Thanks for the show of support, but I'd rather not have their resources tied up, and I like to just go through the system like everyone else. Anything like that(calling them that is) would reflect badly on me and could potentially harm innocent people that they are out protecting. I'm not saying what happened to me was right, but doing that would just cause more harm than good. Thanks though(not sure how serious you are anyway).

Mill, I had a similar thing happen, (well not really, the charge was a bit more serious), I had a sit down with the DA all by myself, with no lawyer & he dismissed the charges.

He waited till the day of court to have the sit down, but it worked for me.

The attorney that I chose(my civil lawyer circulated an e-mail like I said earlier and people sent back referrals in the office) has experience in that particular court, and is on good terms with the judges and the DAs, so he thinks he can get them to drop it fairly easy because he feels he could create difficulties for the prosecution in their case, so they would be more likely to try to prosecute something they can win and not have to waste time on. I already told him I wouldn't plea to anything, so if I can't get it dismissed then we will have to go to trial or trying something else. I might be foolish for doing that, but I won't plea to something that I didn't do.

No, and in fact I was probably foolish to post as many details as I did on the internet, because some people here know my name. I'm not interested in anyone receiving phone calls or visits(including myself) unless you are obviously kidding around like Fausto. I don't want to bother anyone and I want this to work out the best it can for me. Thanks, but no thanks.

Did they have a dashcam?

Sounds like subpoena-ing the tape could damage the cops without you giving a word of testimony at trial.

Alright, lets hear the whole story of the night....
Cliff Notes, because I'm not much in the mood for good chat right now(no offense). Crazy guy at bar thinks everyone but him is in the CIA. He sets my arm on fire(not sure if accidental or not). I try to call the cops on him with my cell phone. Bartender doesn't want the cops there so he grabs my cell phone and breaks it, and then has his goons slam me onto the concrete outside and attempt to kill me or something of that nature. I drove to the nearest gas station and called the police, but the bar owner is friendly with those officers, so they investigated me instead. When they said they were refusing to take a report of what happened to me(because they weren't there or didn't care or whatever) I said that was fvcked up so I was summarily arrested for disorderly conduct and public intox. Code of Alabama, Disorderly conduct: (3) In a public place uses abusive or obscene language or makes an obscene gesture;
1. Take stapler.

2. Burn down building

That's fscking BS. :|

Agreed.
Fvck ill even come down and help (as long as i get to do the honors:D)

If you would like an army of angry, armed geeks to back you up just aquire a few Nevada=>Alabama plane tickets. :p

I really think Fausto sending his group of gay bikers to drink there a couple times in two weeks would be better revenge. Of course, I wonder what Fausto is doing in return for such favors?
You have to admit, it'd be pretty goddamn funny. :D

Oh trust me man... people would literally lose their minds down there if anyone from a "big" city like Atlanta came in. Even more if it was gay bikers.
In assless leather chaps. :D
and leather whips :D

1. I need to here more of the story, no offense, but I don't takte the word of someone who has been drinking/possibly drunk at the time automatically.

2. Get yourself a good lawyer.

3. That isn't going to help your BI very much.

I was thinking #3 immediately when I saw the title & Mill's name. This could seriously hurt your chances of getting hired at a department, especially if they're hiring a few out of a large pool. Perhaps you should limit the drinking if you plan on being an LEO. I'm not saying officers don't drink, but it's different when you're first starting out.

3 isn't that much of an issue to me honestly. If I'm doing what I a supposed to be doing(which is calling the police when attacked) and they don't want to take my report, then there is not much I can do. Obviously something went wrong, and I am not trying to make this one-sided. I was of age, wasn't given a sobriety test(I had about 2 drinks), and tried to do what was right. It backfired on me, but that doesn't mean I'm going to hold a vendetta or anything. Just going to get a lawyer and go through the process.

I can see what you're saying. If they didn't investigate the incident at the bar, then there is definitely a problem. Were they young or old officers? From what I'm hearing I'd guess that they're older guys and friends with the bar owner. If that's the case, they should have an investigation put on them. There's no place for guys like that in law enforcement.

Well there were some older ones and the youngest was about early to mid 30's. I don't know if they are buddies with the bar owners, but it certainly appeared that way. They might just have a nice working relationship, so they were obviously going to go after me instead. It happens... life isn't fair.
Welcome to the real world my friend. Now wait until you have kids, it only gets better.

I'd volunteer to come down and help, but seeing how LE in Alabama treats a white boy in an Audi, a brown boy in an Audi would be arrested as soon as he crosses the state border for trespassing.
