So I get back from a meeting and there is a mac mini sitting on my desk ...

Hmmmmm.......

I see apple hasnt improved their system balance.
Anything that fills up all that RAM is gonna choke that CPU.
Unless its a 1.5 GB Office Document. Which I'm not sure is even possible.

Reminds me of the iBook I was foolish enough to buy.
1.4 Ghz G4 and 256 MB with OSX. Thing consistanly froze if I ran more than one program.

heard of core duo?

that's centrino core and not p4 core right? meaning the 1.66 ghz is closer to an amd 64 1.66 ghz than it is to a p4 1.66 ghz.

Centrino isn't a processor, it's an architecture. If what you meant is "Is the Core Duo/Solo the next generation of Pentium M?" then yes.

I dont take orders from you, snookums.

I am educated through the official Anandtech website, the AT forums and plenty of home and office experience as an IT.

(My forum education comes from the tech section. I use OT as entertainment.)

And my argument is not "INVALID". Find a dictionary. Just because you dont like what I said and failed to come up with a counter-argument doesnt make me "INVALID".

Please be a bitch somewhere else.

You nitwit, I bet you think NetBurst is the sh!t
Newsflash, clockspeed =! performance. Pentium M, Core Solo, and Core Duo have VERY short pipelines, and are based on the P6 architecture, they're not supposed to have high clock speeds because they don't need them. Dumbass, your argument isn't "INVALID" because he doesn't like it, its because you have as much IT experience as the city manager of Tuttle, Oklahoma. Going to call the FBI next?
/rant

EDIT: Oh, and your "office experience as an IT" just got kicked in the diamonds by a "pimply faced high school student".
You lose, sweetie.
Do a search in AT for "shortylickens" and "Navy". You will find a dozen threads in which I state I had many years in, then got out to work for a government contractor for the next few. I do not think netburst is the sh!t :roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll:

And you're about as smart as JLGatsby.

As for M4H: Theres been more than a handful of threads where you agreed with me and we supported each others ideas. If I'm a dumbass, then you've been agreeing with a dumbass. I dont know why that makes you so cool.

(In case you guys are wondering, its early morning on the weekend. I havent started my jog yet. I dont watch TV. And my girlfriend went to suck of MrSHiek and BigRash and SLCentral. Thats why I keep posting.) ;)

I think what you'll find is I supported the ideas when you had a clue. :p

Sadly, this isn't the case.

I guess after 26 thousand its easier to post without making intelligent arguments.
Which is kind of what I expected. Its the normal response I get whenever making well-written posts with support.

At least M4H could say something with substance and thought. Not to mention he did a (slightly) better job of refraining from personal insults than everyne else.

He's still got my respect.
Heck, he may even get a Web Kiss from me.
Probably not though. :)

Actually you got nailed to the wall my friend. I dont care what youve done in the past, a Pentium-M based dual core can use 2GB of memory just fine.

QFT. shortylickens, you've turned yourself into pwnage of the year material. Does it look like I give a flying rat sh!t what kind of "Navy IT experience" you have? If it was worth ANYTHING, you'd know what a Pentium M was and why it wouldn't need to be 3+ GHz to address 2 GB of RAM.

Nit-pickin' mofos!

I still win, regardless

you win on the sole fact that mine is a mac. i've been developing on a mac for 18 months now and i still do not like stupid osx.

also for the record, i have a windows machine too. it's just not a beast since i'm primarily mac developer. our software is cross platform.

Heh trust me ... read above. i don't even like macs, i just develop for it primarily at work.
