So I scored a DS lite last wednesday when target fvcked up and sold them, and I picked up mario with it. while I was having a great time with Mario, I was also looking forward to getting the flash hardware to get it flashed to run homebrew.

So last night I got off of work and everything had arrived. I flashed it and wow ... all I can say is I am now going to be hooked to this thing. I can now run movies on it, music, and the flashcard I have has a bunch of emulators bulit into it so I can just drop roms onto the memory card and play them on the go.

I think at this current time, DS > XBox 360. I haven't played my 360 in a while (played cod2 a little bit over the weekend) and mainly use it for watching mvies. It's funny too because my GF just really does not like video games, but she cannot put my damn DS down. She takes it to work every day now and plays it on break and all of her co-workers play it on their breaks too, and most of them are going to buy one now haha.

The DS Lite is probably the funnest toy I've had in a long time.

EDIT:

I used an EZPass 2 and a Supercard Mini-SD. I used these 2 links for the actual process of how to do it:

EZ Pass Review/Instructions. (you have to register to view)
Step By Step flashing DS Lite instructions.

I picked both of them up from Jandaman.com

EDIT 2:

There are a CRAPLOAD of emulators for the DS. Click the link below to check out the emulators and links to them all:

It requires registration.

I have yet to try out any movies as I've been screwing around with the roms more than anything else. I'm going to the beach tomorrow and will mess with the movie stuff tonight however. And yes, this works on old DS's.

Here's a pic of mine when I flashed it.

Yeah, I'm curious about movie quality myself. I bought one of those CF adapters for the DS that lets you play MP3's and video files. It was so so.

Can you post some screen shots? What file format are the movies in? Divx, mpeg?

You showed your DS your weiner and now it plays custom apps?

I saw Gamespot's newsletter the other day and I've been tempted to get their DSLite+Brain games package for $205. Plus the new Mario Bros, of course.
