I've taken EXTREME measures. I've uploaded all my pron to a number of servers all around the internet! Different servers, different domains etc... This way I can view it any time, and if 1 of the servers go down I can just view another one!!! I've also given the sites some very intuitive names, so no one can guess they contain pron!!! :p

Is that cool or what!

I have a folder on my Desktop called "Porn". Inside are a few choice shots of Margaret Thatcher. Somewhere else, hidden away, is the real folder. People never look for it after checking out the first.

Think your dedicated pr0n folders, or even disks are bad? Well, what started out as a proof of concept after a drunken joke bet has produced quite possibly the most robust pr0n solution this side of the Mississippi: a dedicated, 64-bit, fully ECC-guarded, commercial grade UNIX-based pr0n server with production-level security hardening, RAID redundancy and UPS protection, sultan.sunboxes.net.

No bullsh!t. If you care at all about the details:

Yup, it all started after too much Heineken. While splitting a case watching the Pats one Sunday, a buddy was commenting on all the Sun crap I have in my house (I'm a Sun hw/sw support engineer), and the fact that I never follow thru with anything I start. So he bet me (dont even remember what at this point, we were fcking obliterated. A fifth of Grey Goose?) that I couldn't make a dedicated pr0n box in 30 days, even though if I applied myself I could do it in an afternoon with all the stuff I had sitting idle. I called his bluff, and it was on.

Winning was actually very easy: when I migrated my production apps/fileserving from an Sun Ultra 1 workstation to a 1U Netra T1 Model 105 server, I already had a fully configured system with Solaris 9, two Solaris Volume Manager/DiskSuite-mirrored 9gb disks, an extra 100mbit Ethernet card (10mbit onboard) and Samba ready to go. Thanks to the previous config, Samba was even pre-bound to the 100mbit interface so you can telnet/ftp into the 10mbit port "out-of-band" and not affect production I/O performance! :p All I had to do was copy some token digi-titty files and rename the box (my girl actually came up with it; my naming convention is non-specific world leader positions like "president", "czar", "caesar", "shogun", etc., and "sultan" was the only one she could think of with a harem :D) to win the bet. Dude almost died laughing when I demo'd the finished product for him.

And to answer OP's question: the Samba share is mapped to a network drive on my laptop only, though fully accessible on all my other boxes. But screw a password, I live alone, my gf helped name it and laughed along with the whole thing, and anyone who denies the existance of pr0n on their computer at some point or another is full of sh!t anyway. :p

(Edits beecuz I cnat seam tu spel tunite)
Impressive!

I am too lazy this evening to read through this whole thread. The first thing that popped into my head was why does it need to be hidden? Are you ashamed of having it?

christ you have to worry about someone brute forcing your porn folder?!?! My friends would stop the second it asked for a password

You would keep the goods from your friends!?!

Anyone familiar with a program that "tracks" all movements on your computer?

I seen in horror at my cousin's house where this program would take pictures of the entire image on the screen second after second. Like I mean he'd watch a movie or play a game and it would have pics of that and everything.

There was nothing he could do, it would scan all other usernames and take pics of freaking everything lol.

Been like over a year now probably and I never heard any news on it anywhere.

Hide it? Why? Are you ashame of it? My porn DVDs are on the same shelf as the regular DVDs. I do backup net porn onto DVDs, because HDs can go out w/o warning.
