my computer savy female friend once got on my computer and started surfing my folders. i had to stop her right before she clicked this one folder on my desktop. gawd..she instantly knew what i had to hide.
nowadays, i just lock the computer whenever Im away, and have people use guest accounts. Ive upgraded from "a folder" to "a drive" and not sure what to do after that.

girls collect porn too. this other good friend of mine would ask me to send her stuff, and she would request random things for me to find. when we visit each other she sometimes plays the videos i give her and starts commenting on it, and I get too embrassed to stay in the room.

Personally, I think that's weirder than hiding it.

I mean, if you have a friend who's a girl and INTO pr0n....good grief, THAT'S A KEEPER!! Especially one who can make joking comments about it. That's like finding a chick who is into PC shooters or something. You don't less those girls go, they are like one in a billion! (Yes, one in a BILLION - there is, like, SIX of them on the planet)

At my cousin's house porn is scattered all over thier computer. I was fixing thier machines and encountered the files and said to my cousin, "Your very low on disk space and I would consider *cough* "sorting" through your files, this folder in particular." He wasn't even embarrased about it at all, it was 3 am and he was watching the "independent films" on full blast checking to see what he wanted to throw away. Embarassingly I actually wanted to and DID "snatch" some of his files before I went home but also found a copy of MS Flight 95 and decided that was more worthy.

You could always get an OS that supports your behavior. LinuXXX sounds like something you all need! It's got a "wife" button! Not to mention armchair!

I used to put all the goods in a .zip file, and rename the extention to something else.

e:\backup\download\pics\ <2 gigs of porn here>

I am the only one to use my computer but if I do surf some porn I will clear out my history in Opera just in case somebody comes on over (i.e. female) and needs to surf the net for some reason or another.

TrueCrypt, great program that creates an encrypted file anywhere & lets you mount it as a virtual drive. Has options to remove all file paths in the program after every use and stores your password in some kind of RAM driver cache or something, which is also wiped after every use & definitely after every reboot.

just make it a hidden folder and under advanced search options tell it not to search hidden folders.

some chicks are cool with it... I have a [female] cousin who (for some reason I forget now) sent me something from her bf's PC. I felt so comfortable, I sent something back. No joke.

infinitly secure because it does NOT exist

You really should remedy that.

why should I?

IMO porn is boring, it lost its appeal 10 years ago when i turned 14

I know what you mean. I lose interest in porn after about 15 minutes.

That's money, nice reply
You only need 2 minutes...

I think that's why they stopped allowing free previews in hotel rooms...

The only morally questionable items on my computer are some wallpapers of naked women, and I just keep them in a folder labeled "crap" next to all my pictures. I'm the only one who uses my computer.

My G/F on the other hand....she's got all kinds of cheap mpeg's she downloaded from god knows where. She sure as hell doesn't need to worry about the porn on my computer...she's got plenty of her own! ;)

Since its just my computer I dont worry about it.
If I had to keep it safe, I would use a seperate physical drive and only give myself access.
A while ago I had a 250GB SATA drive almost stuffed with smut. A few gigs of music too. 5 years of regular surfing. I love file-sharing. One year on the DC network also. I even paid for a site at one time.
Anywho, the day it went down (died) I figured that was gods way of telling me to get rid of it. You know he kills kittens for that, dont you? So now I use a smaller PATA drive to share games from out-of-bussiness software publishers. Master of Orion 2 and others.

BTW: I do catorgorize my filthy habit. I love ACDSee 3.0 through 7.0.

i have a simple little program that is called "HIDEIT". You open the program select the folder and assign it a password, once you assign the password and run the program it will hide the folder from the hard drive. If you conduct a search through the explorer you will not be able to view the folder or its contents.
In order to access the folder you must open the program, select the folder and type in the password.

I also use the removable harddrive method, I have alot of porn.........
