FWIW i know i've been banned 4 times, once for telling people (quite insistently, rudely & drunkenly, admittedly) to keep the Terry Shiavo crap in P&N, once for a ill considered joke, once for allegedly (😉) neffing with the Night Crew, and of course my permaban 😱

There may be others, but if there are they escape me right now.

Same happened to me... though I just got an asshole PM. They just delete the thread and dont even bother with simply saying it got deleted. Thats the problem with the mods. Are they really that lazy? Or just assholes?

both? thats why i think the mods should use regular sn and just have 'the tag', that way we know whose accountable.

We know who is accountable when threads are deleted or posts modified.

This thread can easily be locked if people choose to change the intent.
Those that cause it to lock will get the added bonus of increasing their ban count.

IIRC, my knowledge of the Fusetalk backend isn't vast but I believe that the Mods can perform all of their functions under their own, normal account. They just use the Anandtech Moderator account as a frontend for interacting with us. If they each use their normal account most of the time they can sort of keep tabs on who does what.

And if something goes awry I trust that there are enough of them to keep each other in check.
 
All my bans seem to be revoked just around the time for the tax thread.

Go figure😛
