I'm a shy guy. When I was dating, if I didn't kiss on the first date then I was damned for the rest of time with that girl. There is never a better opening than the end of first date. If I missed that opportunity, then I kept waiting for another better one (which of course never comes). Eventually I and the girl both get frustrated and stop dating. If I wasn't shy, I wouldn't wait for the "good time for a kiss" and it wouldn't be a problem.

My first real girlfriend was back after I graduated from high school in 1992. We hung out on occassion, but never went out. On our first date, we went to a movie. I can't remember what we wanted to see, but we got free tickets to a showing of "Basic Instinct" late that night. I think it was around midnight. We sat in the back of the theater and we kissed there. Actually, it was a little more than that....but man that was fun. 🙂

Therefore, first date.

For my future wife it was the second date when we kissed. 🙂
