so how do we feel about the moderators moderating publicly instead of anonymously moderating as Anandtech Moderator?

y tu?

I completely agree. Anonymity often leads to mods being dicks. I also like it when they express themselves and don't hold anything back, trying to maintain some kind of forced dignity. I think it's great when people speak their minds, period. It makes these forums more authentic, and the mods participating fully is a big plus. I also like to seem them moving around the different forums.

Harvey's problem is that he lets his personal political views taint his view as a MOD.

He does do a great job at bitch slapping trolls and kids who steal computers from their school though :)

I agree. At the risk of this being a call out post, from everything I've heard and seen, he does an excellent job. I just wish he would settle down. :p

I'd like to know how many of the MODs have jobs where they manage people.

From my various run ins it seems that a lot of them lack the ability to separate their personal feelings from their modship. After being in management for years, as I have been, you pick up the ability to separate yourself from those who you manage and are able to look at things from a neutral point of view.

I had two guys that I tried to get fired come out and tell me that I was always fair to everyone after I had moved to another location.

It's difficult when you have a member that can't separate reality from fantasy. And he sucks as a person.

I agree, but let's stop talking bad about Harvey already.

No one thanks the mods? I try to whenever possible.
Thank you, mods! :cookie:

See, I even threw in a cookie. It's redeemable for an actual cookie in select Mrs. Fields stores.

I used to get a lot of thanks when I did the email.
People would click on "Forgot Password?" when they had an invalid email in their profile. Some people were surprised when I tracked them down via Google and reset their password.

olds was one hardworking mod, a guy who covered a ton of the nuts and bolts user help and never tooted his horn about it. He knows he's welcome back as a mod by everyone in the mod community, including Derek, if he would just agree to wear pants at our public functions.
