If by "goods" you mean "hot females" then I agree.

Possessions don't have to be goods. They can be any form of capital or goods. Would you work at a job that paid $8/hr when you could work in a job that paid $50/hr all things being equal?

Imagine he used the coupons only on beef, it would come up to be alternator size.

Actually, that's how much pretty much every economy works. Look up supply and demand. With enough supply and price of the goods near 0 or 0, the demand is exponentially greater than at any other price. This implies that as goods get cheaper, more and more people are willing to purchase them. This is especially for goods that would normally take a decent chunk of a person's paycheck, as in the OP's case. Some people view the time cost in his activities as too a price, so they are unwilling or unable to commit to getting the free goods.

It's stealing if you consider fraud to be the same thing.

I certainly don't disagree with what you're saying, but we pretty much take the cake when it comes to mass consumption of low quality, and/or needless crap. Just because prices get low doesn't make it necessary.

I have already said my piece. There is little reason to debate this semantic further.

You can steal a car and give it away too.

Yes, it's stealing when both both the store and customer agree on a price and a transaction takes place  They could have easily said that they weren't going to do the transaction and that would have been that. In both a legal and moral definition I am absolved of any guilt.

When the store states a limit it is stealling.

There was no stated limit. It said buy 2 get 1 free.($2 off)

And like I said earlier, the store was free to refuse any transaction. Any definition of stealing would be remove the goods from the store without it's knowledge or in a clearly fraudulent manner. Using a store issued coupon that is accepted and issued by their system does not count as fraud.

Then that doesn't relate to this thread.

OP is not a thief. But he did commit multiple acts of fraud by using a void coupon (The coupon reads: "Void if copied...")

Based on the number of receipts, I am assuming that OP used the coupons at different times (and maybe at different Sears), so it is hard to blame Sears for underestimating how low some people will go for a free can of WD-40 and a roll of electrical tape.

0/10 for questionable ethics on the part of OP.

May be your goody bag, but as soon as my goody bag is full of testosterone I am leaving it behind.

This your goody bag: Link?

So it seems that the OP was successful in defrauding a corporation.

Which begs the question, if theft occurs deep in the woods and no one is around to hear it, is it theft?

Must theft be recognized to exist?

Under your own admission OP, you knowingly and willingly defrauded a company.

Your loot, while volumetrically impressive, after closer inspection, isn't qualitatively so. Not even my contractor friends would know what all of that stuff. In addition, as it fits into the realm of theft, it is indeed pretty weak.; if you were going to steal something you could've set the bar a little higher:p

In the end, props for the determination / resolve, but you simply have to, by law, get 0/5 stars. Frankly the beauty is in playing the system, not breaking the law. Once you get into that realm the rules change and you ruin the thrill of the basic hot deal:

get something as absolutely positively close to the set constraints as possible

...otherwise you end up comparing a stolen roll of electrical tape with the Manager's Porsche Boxster from the jewelry store across the street...

*sigh*

When everyone asks why there are no really good deals anymore, we use threads like these as shining examples of why stores don't give things out that are worth a damn.

It's one thing to use it for a few here and theres, but to come back with hundreds of items you don't need or want is just flat out greedy.

The worst part is that you made a post about it trying to show off like you're so fucking cool for doing it. If you haven't noticed from most of the other replies, you're pretty much a douchebag.

if it weren't for the threat of the assault charge I am sure hundreds of people would have torn those little fvkers to shreds last year @ BF that had like 10desktops + laptops as they came out first...

LOL..

There's a lot of useful stuff there!

So..

If he would have somehow managed to use the 300 coupons to "steal" a 1500$ air compressor... would it be better?

The store let him walk out with the items. How many of you holier than thou people make it a habit to tell the cashier when something rings up the wrong price in your favor?

lol

At least one. My morals and ethics are worth more than a few dollars. Many of you will understand that better when you get older and/or when you have children who you know follow your example.

Sears is already doing that since they merged with Kmart to form a holding company and now have a Kmart CEO who is now gutting Sears without being reined in by the shareholders. They are and have been since the hostile takeover regularly firing any over performing long time associates who actually make regular bonuses in management (however slim those bonuses might be), so they can then replace them with under paid and underperforming morons who won't even show up for work most the time.

Now this CEO bozo has recently been given even more power to finish up the job carving up Sears into separate tasty morsels comprising of various Sears divisions featuring separate groups for each enterprise. Even real estate will have it's own division, so they can now close Sears stores at will just to sell off profitable real estate to make the quarters look more profitable then they really are. Way to go corporate raiders! WOOHOO!

Carve me up some Sears stores! Love, Kmart :brokenheart:
