Exactly ... Newton so far has not been nearly as effective as I thought he was going to be. If he ever decides to start listening, hang in the pocket and think "pass-first" (as I'm pretty sure Belichick has been telling him to do) NE could be very dangerous.

I still however think the AFC East torch is about to be passed to the Bills.

Meanwhile tonight's Saints/Bucs game is reminding me a little bit of Joe Montana and the Chiefs for some reason .... not a good look.

To be fair Montana failed with KC mainly due to the players around him but age/his back were also major problems and the same can be said for Brady with the Bucs. (although fail or not remains to be seen)
I seem to recall Joe Montana went to an AFC champ game with the Chiefs? Strange definition of failure you have there. :p

Valid point! :)

You know a championship was what the Chiefs had in mind when they signed Montana though so anything less....

yeah, but that Franchise has had a pretty woeful history of utter postseason futility outside of the first SB and the most recent. getting to the AFC Championship in those days...or really any days for the Chiefs, was like the best day ever for a generation.

It's like the Toronto Maple Leafs not winning a Cup since 1967.

You can have all the regular season success you want, but the taste of a championship is like no other.

Don't worry Lions, you will still win this game! I know you have issues with losing games at the end, but one thing you do this year is you come to the NFC East to make yourself better.

Don't worry, and I would like to congratulate you on your win already!

...and wha, is that Cam Newton on the mic for this game? Did the Pats drop him or something, or does he get off time during a bye week to do stuff like this?

ah NVM, that's Aqib Talib. Could have sworn they said it was Cam at the start of the game...

Looks like this could be yet another game the Packers lose to one of the worst teams in the league.

Okay, the Packers squeaked by so the Packers win and the Badgers win. People are too negative about 2020.

I wasn't sure who to feel bad for here ... ended up with sympathy for Alex Smith.

Green Bays D however is suspect at best and the Jags are a bad football team overall.

Still you have to beat the teams on your schedule.

I'm most impressed by the Giants though ... still FAR from great but they really are improving! Every time I was sure they were going to cough it up they actually executed!

AND tied for 1st in the NFC East rotfl! :p

I know ... NY actually looked like the better team today.

Possibly as or even more important than the win for the franchise however was zero fumbles by Jones.

He did make a few wobbly and ill-advised pass attempts which the Giants only got away with because Philly has no secondary. If this had been say the Ravens for example I suspect at least one of those goes the other way for 6 ... then maybe the game ends differently.

3-7 is not ahead of 3-5-1; it's increasingly likely the winner of the NFC Least will have 6 wins. :tearsofjoy:

SOMEBODY has to win! Right...???

(also I did say "tied" ... I have no idea what the actual percentage is)

Honestly I thought the Eagles were the best of a sad bunch going into today and despite my opinion that Wentz is overrated I expected them to win going away.

This is not to imply I wasn't pleased to be mistaken! ;)

Yeah, I'm pulling for Smith but that's about it this year for the WFT. McLaurin and Gibson and Young are the future of that team, so much to build on. Haskins...still in heavy doubt. I'm hoping for a top 2 pick and honestly, I don't like any top QBs in the draft this year as obvious NFL prospects. (yeah, longhair in Clemson? I just don't buy it). Speaking of Tiger alums....I'd like to see the WFT grab pick #2 or something, and try to trade it to Houston for Watson and maybe a rd 3 pick or something. That would be...awesome. Houston looks to be in fire sale mode (which started last year), and I'd love to see Watson on what could be a much, much, much better team with a solid and legit QB.

61 yard field goal by the Seahawks, the new franchise record. Myers is 20 for 20 on the year!

was looking forward to watching that game, but got stock with garbage Shittsburg and Bungles game. ....stupid mid-atlantic region!

Thought annoying, stupid, pointless, garbage golf was going to limit us today, but looks like CBS gets the late game, at least....so Buffalo and Arizona here. I can live with that.

So far one heck of a game actually which is what I was expecting.

This could go either way which (unless you are a fan of one of the teams) is exactly what you want to see!
