So everythime i want to play a game i have to fire up the huge fan pointing into my case :|

My passively cooled 9550 (never buy an XpertVison card, even if it is half the price of the next brand) needs a big ol desk fan, on full speed settings..otherwise it just crashes my app/game..at stick speeds :| And i really hate having a huge fan going sounding like a leafblower and blasting cool air about my legs

Needless to say it's a refund job

I don't have a ghetto computer, so I don't need a ghetto solution.

The "shelving" for all my network stuff is made out of old DVD cases though, so I guess that qualifies.

I used to have the subs in my car hooked up ghetto style. Wires were running from the hood of my car into my door, down the inside of my car to the amp in the backseat. It worked, but needless to say, it was teh ghetto.

My computer is extremely noisy without being ghetto...it has a buttload of fans.

 

My watercooling is hooked up to my toilet, so when I want to play a game I have to flush the toilet every 45 seconds.

LOL...I thought you were serious halfway through that.

I remember a thread over on ocforums where this guy (who owned a backhoe) dug a 12ft deep hole behind his house and buried a water resivour (sp? that ain't right) for his water cooled rig. He fvcked up his back yard just to cool his computer. Thats hardcore.

I have a hude dual d=window fan blowing into my Case witht he door open when I OC my comp and then play some H2 with the settings up (my backup rig, I got water tg in my main rig)

I dont mind...I can get awesome CFM

i would, but i've simply ordered another (ABIT 9550, all the vGuru overclocking junk, active fan control, RAM sinks etc) to replace it and i'm just getting a refund on the xpertvision one.

I want to sell the 9550 to a mate later, and don't think he wants the ghetto setup

Heh - I have a huge aftermarket cooler on my non-oc'ed 9800np>Pro, and my P4 is running a 33% overclock on the retail HSF with no thermal paste. Heh.

I used to have to point a big floor fan into my case just to run my PC, much less play games. Even so, the heat killed at least 3-4 hard drives. I wised up and didn't skimp on the case/psu for my next build, this was back in 7/02. Haven't had a problem since.

if i have my cpu overclocked at 2.5ghz i can't turn off the window unit ac in the computer room or it overheats rather quickly...i need a better waterblock and pump

too bad i'm too lazy to get around to it

haha, that reminds me of my file server...the power switch is a cd-rom audio cable connected to the mobo header...i short it with a staple that stays stuck in the top of the case...here's a crappy phone pic of it
