I picked up a 7800GT (upgrade from 6800NU) for my 1280x1024 LCD a few days ago (came today, will install tomorrow). Even the 7800GT struggles at Battlefield 2@1280x1024/4xAA/16xAF. http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=2607&p=3
If I recall, AT runs all their tests at 16xAF now, or 8xAF if 16x not available in-game. I'm pretty sure BF2 supports 16x.
Oh, and don't forget, transparent AA and H.264 acceleration too!

I personally still have a 9600XT. I just come here to watch all the fanbois get there panties in a bunch and flame each other. That is about all this video forum is worth nowadays. It is quite entertaining, though.
