i think once favre's marriage is back in shape, he'll play better. he's got so much stress going on that it's aging him more and more by the day and he can't play the way everyone knows he can play. the dude's mind is too clouded.

i think once he gets things back in order at home, he'll start making better passes. plus, he needs a receiving core. his receivers are missing catches left and right.

You're assuming that will happen. I agree with you, but even if his marriage does get fixed, it won't be DURING THE SEASON when he hardly even see's his wife, it would be after.

All the more reason he should go home and fix that, he can't fix his performance on the field or the Vikings miserable record / performances so far this year.

I think the Vikings should bench Favre, but I don't think they will because more people want to watch Favre than some new guy. I would do it anyway because there's not much to lose in terms of actual football. Worst case you are the same or worse. If the guy actually shows some promise then they have more options at the end of the year and know more about their options.

All of this Favre rhetoric is hilarious. Love the ninja edit of the statement about superbowls that was already quoted tons by the time it was ninja edited.

Anyone who says Favre right now is better than TJack is insane. Favre has 17 picks and a butt load of fumbles already. He is by far any away the worst starting QB in the league. It would be very hard for Jackson to play worse.

Just wait until you see TJack prove you wrong. He was chosen by chilly, trained by chilly, carried by chilly, and should have left with chilly. He does fine until he's under pressure, then self destructs. I saw enough at the end of the game Farve got knocked out of, he hasn't changed.

He should retire and we should play Tarvris for the rest of the season and try lose all of our remaining games; then hope Andrew Luck decides to declare for the 2011 draft(I think he will be eligible?) and is available when we pick. Watched that entire Stanford-Cal game on the weekend and that guy is a freaking monster. Love him.

KT

that run was fucking amazing. lol.

ninja edit? I edited it way after I said it, after posting it was a dumb statement. Publicly acknowledging a mistake and editing it is not a "ninja edit", or do you think it is?

I think he has to start 1 more game.
If I remember correctly he has ended his career with a team by thrown an INT.
I do not believe that is how the game ended on Sunday.

Whether or not it meets the technical definition of ninja edit (is there such a thing?), it is still hilarious to try to erase that statement even though it has been quoted so many times. I suppose on the up side it does avoid any additional ridicule from people new to the thread.

So once a statement is made, a person cannot admit it was wrong and edit it in your eyes?

Please advise me on the correct way to edit a statement I no longer support for the future. I'd like to avoid "ninja edit" accusations.

I'm all ears.

People can do whatever they want, including you. Your method was particularly funny. I don't see the point of doing any edit at all since you were quoted so many times. The thread does not flow naturally now because of the edit and it did nothing for you since there is still clear evidence that you said it. If you wanted to retract it you could have just added additional text in the post as many people do that starts with Edit: (sometimes in bold).

Because I changed my mind. That's the point of an edit, no?

There is evidence I said it? No shit.

You mean how I made it start with "edited"?

Exactly. And next season Favre wont be with the team and Jackson probably will. They need to see where Jackson is right now. I say play him.

Agreed. They still have over a month to evaluate Jackson and see whether or not they should pick up another QB during the off-season. Bench Favre and see what Jackson can do.

Start Favre, play him for a quarter, then put in TJ. That gives Favre the start...and gives Frazier the opportunity to evaluate Jackson under fire.
The season is basically over for Minnesota. Unless they win just about every game for the rest of the season, they won't make the play-offs...so what can it hurt? If they don't like the way Jackson plays...they can start looking for a replacement. (or two)

I look for Brett to show up as one of the football commentators within a couple of seasons...if not next year.

Brett will probably still be talking about himself instead of the game at hand.

I think it's more likely they'll play Favre through the first half and take him out partway through the 3rd quarter. Sending him in for one quarter and then benching him solely to keep his consecutive start record alive is kind of an insult, like leaving a 50 cent tip.

His health permitting, of course. He's playing injured, no doubt about that.

Madden will come out of retirement to be his partner. You'll hear all sorts of weird background sounds when the camera pans to Favre.
