Since you just ignored it, I'll say it again real slow for you since you are just being a beautiful being about it.

17 picks, many fumbles, 3-7 record. How are those for some points? Feel free to argue them. Going to blame it on "no weapons"? lol...

Hey, nuckledragger, in case you haven't figured it out, there's more than one piece of the puzzle of life and football. I tried to show you how many variables there are, but I guess you never took statistics to figure out multi-variate regressions.

Same thing with your political and economics viewpoint.

You're like buying furniture at Pottery Barn. You look great on the top but once you scratch the surface, you're just MDF.

There's no good reason for Frazier to take big chances, like making personnel changes.

There is every reason to. Frazier has a chance to keep the HC position or get one somewhere else after bringing the team around if he can do what Jason Garrett is doing (so far). I don't remember the last time I saw Tavaras Jackson play but I would give him a shot, and Leslie Frazier should want to too.

How about this, I retract my superbowl statement. Look at his stats this year, since this year is all that matters. He fucking sucks...and thats putting it lightly.

Keep on laughing though.

That's great. It took you 63 posts to bring in a fact/stat to your argument. Sadly you've already make yourself look like an idiot over and over.

I still do not think Jackson is anything they want to deal with. I do not think that they want to play him next year AT ALL. As has been pointed out Jackson was Chilly's project too. Apparently not even Chilly was high on Jackson and benched him for Favre. That has to say something.

If Frazier plays jackson and he ends up winning a few, then what? I think Jackson is up for contract re-do (not sure on this) and he is likely a player that Frazier nor Bevell wants to deal with. He's not "theirs". If they leave Favre in, they don't have to be the ones that killed Favre. They could end up getting a better pick AND not have to deal with Jackson in the offseason. Not to mention who knows what QBs will open up to FA in the off-season.

I hate to be siding with Nick now but you're as big a douchebag as he is.

Your not making any points either, you just keep repeatedly implying how he never makes points in P&N as if thats relevant. We got that already.

Favre is terrible and needs to be benched, the stats provided go along way in supporting that argument.

Hey *edited out*, you wouldn't happen to be making excuses for Favre, would you? Sure sounds like it. I have cited the only statistics that matter, his QB stats and his teams record. There are worse teams than the Vikings with QB's that have better numbers than Favre. He is the worst in the league. Sure his O-line isnt the greatest, but so are a lot of other teams, just look at the bears. Their O-line sucks, but they are 7-3. But keep throwing up smoke about multi-variate regressions and whatever other bullshit you are talking about. It doesn't matter, when the dust settles its pretty obvious to anyone with a working frontal lobe that Brett Favre is a big part of the problem in Minnesota.

Oh, and you trying to drag my political viewpoints into every single post of yours in this thread isn't scoring you any points. This thread isn't about the economy, its about football. But hey, if you think its making you look smart...

*edit*

And since you are so big on statistics and lambasted me for not having any (which I did, you just had *edited out* in your face and couldn't see them), I have noticed that its actually you who has offered no statistics in this thread. So please, show me stats from this season that proves Favre is their guy for the rest of the year?

I'd respect Frazier for that too, but it's never going to happen. Coaches always tiptoe around long streaks even if the player is completely sucking and costing the team wins because no one wants to be the bad guy who ended some great player's streak. See Cal Ripken. Lou had to bench himself since the coach wouldn't do it.

Above everything, Frazier is lobbying for a shot at head coach next season. If he rocks the boat and starts someone else and they lose, all the blame will be on him. He was the guy who benched Favre and they still lost.

If he sticks with Favre and they lose, then all the blame will go on Favre. The bad chemistry between Favre and Childress is gone but Favre still played poorly. Frazier can promise a rebuilding scheme based on a new QB to be traded for or drafted next year.

There's no good reason for Frazier to take big chances, like making personnel changes.

Thats not really saying anything. Favre played great for the Jets so they had every reason to believe he'd do it again. He played great for the Vikes too, arguably the best year of his entire career. So again, they had every reason to have confidence in him again this year. Even after all the stigma and then the injuries he had.

Except he has shaken that confidence, completely demolished it if you ask me. Favre is done, its better for him too - he needs to retire. He cannot bring it around, he can only make his season worse. Its not all his fault, he is obviously hurt in many areas, his Head coach blows (but is now gone) and his team hasn't been playing their best either - that isn't the point, he is half the reason the Vikes have played so bad from a leadership view, and probably more. Childress wasn't the leader of this team, Favre is. Getting rid of childress isn't going to help right the ship if you keep the same tired and washed up leader the same person.

I have all the respect in the world for Favre, he is a 1st ballot HOF'er and he had a great career, its time to hang up the gloves.

I stand corrected.
You still aren't seeing the forest for the trees though.

Just because you disagree with me doesn't mean I'm wrong. I think TJ gives the Vikings a better chance to win than Brett Favre. I cited stats. It would be hard for TJ to do any worse, plus since Favre is gone after this year it lets you feel out what you have in TJ. Two birds with one stone.

I guess I meant not as to why they got Favre two years ago (that's obvious) but as to why they stuck with him this season over Jackson after Favre started sucking.

My other points, along with a123456's still stand though I think. There's simply no LOGICAL reason why you'd bench Favre right now. To win games? Well in all honesty, that's the last thing you want to do once you're out of playoff contention isn't it? Even if they lose out from here, the blame goes on Favre/Chilly's heads, not Fraziers.

He should retire and we should play Tarvris for the rest of the season and try lose all of our remaining games; then hope Andrew Luck decides to declare for the 2011 draft(I think he will be eligible?) and is available when we pick. Watched that entire Stanford-Cal game on the weekend and that guy is a freaking monster. Love him.

Well maybe, but if he turns things around and they at least look halfway decent and actually win games with Frazier (which they can because the rest of their schedule is cake) then it makes Frazier look good, and helps him further his career.

It depends on his personality, is he the type that will play things cool and easy to avoid the spotlight? Or take risks to further his career by either becoming HC of the Vikes or going elsewhere. I don't even know what his contract situation is, and he might not even want a HC position and be comfortable as DC, but if I were Frazier - I would make Favre retire and take my chances hoping things work out and we win some games. Then my stock goes up big time at the end of the season and teams are fighting for me to coach their team

Frazier will likely need to win a few to keep his job, so I doubt that will happen. I think Favre is beat to hell right now and even though I think TJack is terrible, Frazier might not have a choice.

Of course, I think JaMarcus Russell is available.....

Yep. It doesn't do Frazier any favors to lose all his games and use the "But Favre!!!" card. He needs to show he is better. Better starts with benching Favre.

A man can dream can't he?

I'm not sure about that with Frazier; he seems to be coveted around the league and even if we lose out, I can't imagine them letting him go. It's not like he created this mess.

He didn't create it, but if he makes no attempt to fix it...

We're all forgetting one key factor next year: Vince Young!! Imagine if you guys had JaMarcus, TJack, and Vince Young! LOL!

If Chilly were still around, I'd almost bet money that Vince Young would be a Viking next year.

Right, but he is somewhat limited right now. He definitely should bench Favre, or more likely just convince Favre to retire. I actually think just changing the coach will give us a few more wins; nobody was playing for Childress anymore and even when they were, his coaching decisions were suspect to say the least.

Anyway, my original post was, I thought, obviously tongue in cheek. I was just enamoured with Luck on the weekend and we most certainly need a QB, so I want to get him. :awe:

if frazier is smart, he'll start t-jax. t-jax will at least listen the HC when he calls plays. you're not going to get that with favre who thinks he invented the west coast offense.

and defensive mided coaches usually like to pound the running game, working field position over slinging the ball all over the field.

and probably nobody remembers t-jax's stats for his last few regular season games right before the favre era. i'd say he turned the corner then.

Rotoworld posted:

Interim coach Leslie Frazier confirmed Monday that Brett Favre will remain the Vikings' starting quarterback going forward.
It's fair to wonder whether Brad Childress' dismissal will "light a fire" under Favre, although at this point it's hard to imagine him suddenly turning his season around. The banged-up 41-year-old holds a 10:17 touchdown-to-interception ratio with five lost fumbles, easily leading the NFL in turnovers. The Redskins present a favorable matchup in Week 12, but you'd be taking quite the leap of faith by using Favre in a fantasy league.

postseason run is over so favre will probably gun for the single game pass td record (7 tds) for the rest of the season as well hit 300 consecutive starts.
