When I was 3 I got my mouth washed out with soap for teaching the neighbor kid to say fuck. He was 2. I don't think you are giving your kid enough credit as to the words he hears or whether it matters at all.

I called my brother a poo-poo pee-pee when I was about 4 and got the same treatment (it was the 60's). If I think about it I can still taste the soap. Trouble is that soap is not good to ingest.
