The issue for me, yes, is abortion in general. A secondary issue for me is the extent to which the left really does believe that the target here isn't a human being. I have labored under the misapprehension that if abortion proponents actually saw or heard the reality of it (namely a fully-developed child having its brain extracted), they'd snap out of this. But I confess I underestimated the zeal with which you guys defend the act, and that shakes me.
That children are gleefully used for their body parts and organs, then tossed into the trash, shakes me.
This goes back to a previous point I made, nothing about abortion procedure will ever sound palpable to you because you oppose the act entirely.
Medical acts sound gross and uncomfortable to people who aren't familiar with them, and medical professionals have to be detached when discussing the procedure. Not only it is a sign of professionalism, its simply how you deal with your job.
But then you lose any hope of a rational conversation with the gleeful remark, because you think someone wakes up in the morning and goes "By Marduk himself, I can't wait to feast on a baby, and harvest its energy for my dark master."
Instead, its people going "I know this will make a difference, someone has made a difficult choice, but this could go to help millions."
Then they worry about some pro-life nutjob murdering them on the street. Or having their workplace be bombed.
