They've been keepers of the self-delusional flame that 3dfx's zombies had back in the day - "OK, so Nvidia wins this round, but NEXT TIME...." - and they aren't going to suddenly get sane because Nvidia promoted themselves in a iffy manner.
I've gone from TNT->TNT2U->GeForce DDR->GeForce 2 GTS->GeForce 3 Ti200->GeForce 4400(?)->5900->6800GT->7800GT - easily a couple thousand dollars worth of cards that I've BOUGHT and PAID RETAIL for and the hell is a clutching fanchimp going to try to stand in this kerfuffle as a substitute for a good product with drivers that can actually render properly.
Wow. You need to lay off the caffeine man. I wouldn't consider myself an ATI fanchimp, having owned 6 Nvidia cards and 3 ATI cards in the last 2 years, but I would still consider AEG tactics to be unprofessional. It bothers me that the place I go to converse with fellow computer-enthusiasts has wolves sneaking in per say. It's one thing for someone to have an opinion about something, even if its wrong, but to be paid to inculcate things that might not be true is just shoddy.
