Nealon funnier than MacDonald? Obviously your parents didn't beat you enough as a child.

Norm McDonald is as unfunny as Colin Quinn. He simply SUCKED at Weekend Update just like Colin.

The only thing he was good for were the Larry King skits.

Ooh, dems fightin words, just because he put down your job as Assistant to a ...........(know the rest? :) )

SNL threads are always entertaining, everyone has their own opinion on when SNL began to suck! :D

I don't find every episode funny, or every skit, but overall I still enjoy it. I dunno, I've watched SNL since the late 80's and I've seen the reruns, SNL has always Rocked/Sucked equally. The nature of the show grants success and failure, it is highly experimental.

Come on, Norm Mcdonald was one of the best... he probably got fired from doing too much OJ jokes... just read the book "Live from New York".

Remember he said the F word live?

The best Norm moment was when he was on Conan with one of the Melrose place chicks, she had just left the show and done a movie with Carrot Top. Norm's segment was great, but when she came out her whole segment was Norm making fun of her for doing a Carrot Top movie. It was brutal and utterly hilarious. Conan completely lost control of the show, he just couldn't stop laughing long enough to shut Norm up. :D

I think the news made a recovery under Fallon and Fey but Nealon was the king of the news.

IMHO SNL has been washed up for years. It seems to me that some of the skits they do could be funny, but they rehash them over and over again. Repitition doesn't always = funny.

Looks like more Joe Piscipo years are head.

I glad, maybe they will get some funny people in their now Jimmy fallon was funny but, Morgan and Kattan are stupid and not the slightest bit funny. Oh yeah and the rest of the cast sucks espically Horatio Sanz he is not funny at all.

It has sucked since Farley left.

SNL ended when John Belushi left.

It was resurrected briefly by Chris Farley, but that was short lived.

This is news?

Every generation of SNL people are always saying this one sucks compared to the last one. IMO I think they new cast they have in now is pretty good. Fred Armisen, Will Forte, Seth Meyers and especially Amy Poehler (back from the Upright Citizens Brigade) are all very good. People were saying SNL would be canceled after the last group left, but that never happened. I thought Kattan was hit-and-miss, Tracy Morgan and Jimmy Fallon were definitely talented enough to leave and probably start a movie career.

C'mon, if SNL survived Anthony Micheal Hall, it can survive anything. No where's the next batch of Canadiens?

What??? I LOVED NORM!!!!

"Authorities reported that a New York girl was mauled by their family's pet cougar. When asked by reporters why the animal attacked, the family replied "BECAUSE IT'S A COUGAR!""

He was my favorite SNL news guy, but Kevin was pretty funny too (he had the right personality for the job).

Wil Farrell left, so no more Alex. Speaking of that, the best Jeapordy skit was with Sean Connary, Burt Reynolds, and French Stewart. Fallon played French, which was pretty unfunny, but McDonald's Reynolds was DEAD ON. That was the skit where he changed his name to "Turd Furgeson" and made Alex call him that LOL!!!!

Yeah, there's an old saying that say "The first experience is always the best experience." So people are always going to say the people that were on the show when they first saw it are the best.

I have no idea who those people are and it took me the longest time to figure out what SNL meant. But then again, comedy is a clowns holliday.

SNL has been dead for years now. I haven't laughed at any of the skits in 15 or so years.

I been watching SNL from the beginning and I really liked it better at the beginning
and when Chris Farley was there.... I haven't been watch much in the last 6 years so
I really can't comment on that but seems to have lost it's luster awhile back

Definitely not sorry to see Kattan go, he was unfunny 95% of the time. Morgan was funny at times but in many sketches, he basically played the same character. Brian Fellow was a good one, although it was the same thing over and over.

Fallon was pretty good, I liked him on Update, he did some good impressions, and he had some funny characters like Nick Burns. Some of his other sketches weren't as good, like the Leather Man, Jarret's Room, and Top o' the Morning.

I dont think SNL has been funy for awhile now (except for Celebrity Jeopardy). I guess now its going to be even worse, or maybe better if they find someone who is actually funny.

What? No more Jarret's room? What's going to happen to Gobie?

Anyway, SNL has been hit and miss since the mid-80s. Even the last year of Farley was not that good (I was more of a Sandler fan, anyways). I think this current group has done ok and I always look forward to the opening political skit, even if it is making fun of Bush 90% of the time.
