This. She's family now, so you don't need to be exceptionally formal with the email.

Like Gothgar suggested, say that you're interested in any open investment analysis position at Vanguard and that you would appreciate anything that she does.
 
no no no, she works for Van Guard, they go around and look out for peoples vans. More power to you if that's the job you want!
 
Best way to get hired is through known channels. Be very happy to have a IN somewhere.

Spend as much time researching the company an their last two years so you can speak to their business. Knowing specific metrics will help.
 
Its your decision, but I would definitely send her a resume.

I would just remove the "objective" part of my resume and send it to her. In your email, you could ask her for feedback concerning your resume.

In particular, you could ask her if there is a particular job title that you should be applying for...

Networking is just making sure that everyone you know is aware that you are looking for a job. And hopefully, they make everyone that they know aware as well.

Create a formal coverletter along with the resume. The coverletter will benefit you when the people who are doing the actual hiring come upon her forwarded email.

In all likelihood she will just forward your email so be friendly but well written in the body of the email itself.
 
I have an IRA with Vanguard and i think they are a great company. I've never had an issue when dealing with them.

Agreed. Don't be too specific about what you want, for all you know you could say you want XYZ so whoever she passes the resume along to will not move forward with talking to you about ZYX. It's ok to mention to her, but make sure she knows you're open to anything

I would maybe ask first if there any particular job position - it would make writing a cover letter much easier

I love their extended hours and how anyone you reach can help you out with pretty much any account moves/changes you need to do.
 
😀 My advice is be formal and treat it like a serious job prospect... similar to other resumes you been sending out to investment/finance firms... just because she is technically family - you still have to make a serious good impression. Don't be sending her a half-ass resume or incomplete resume and asking for her advice (you do this in person on family outtings but not to her business e-mail)... Business is Business... the only difference is you have an "insider" that is recommending you... And if you do get the job - your pressure to perform will be even greater because your Aunt's name is on the line for recommending you... ^_^

Send your resume.

If you are open to anything say so. If you have a preference say so. If you only want specific whatever (location, position) say so.

I don't say that because you should be picky but if you are picky you don't want to find yourself in the position of her pulling strings to get you an interview that you don't really want.
