Im sorry i just dont see how a bunch of cartoon looking snakes can be entertaining no matter what Sam Jackson says

When you watch it opening day, with crowd full of people who are cheering, yelling, making jokes, and having a good time you can't help but enjoy the movie. Sure, it's stupid, but it's hilarious at the same time.

Watching it today, with all those other people and 8 of my friends made it the single most memorable trip I've had to the theaters. Definitely the most entertaining movie I've watched in years.

I just saw it opening night, but there were only about 20 of us in the theater. The movie was a blast. It was just what I expected. B movie quality with snakes attacking people.

Well, in the first bathroom scene, i wanted the bite to happen somewhere and it did. In the second one, I didn't want to see the person bitten somewhere it did...

or do you just have to get the mystery hype off your chests?

Could you decipher that for me..

Get the mystery hype off my chest? :confused

The breakdown: The film has built up a shite-ton of hype. Most of us haven't seen the movie yet, making it a mystery, but everyone seems to act like its the next best thing since sliced bread. Going to see it will kill the hype. Do you need to get it off your chest?

IMO, it lives up to the hype though. I went in expecting it to be a disappointment and I ended up loving it.

Though you have a good review, this thread is much better.

I agree, it probably wouldn't be as good if I watched it by myself on my computer or something. It's definitely a movie to see with friends.

I'm going to see it because I actually want to be entertained at the movies for once. I'm sick of watching garbage in the theaters. Finally a fun cheesy movie like the days of american ninja and cobra. I miss them days. It being cheesy and stupid is the whole point.

I went and saw this movie because it was campy and cheesy and completely hilarious.

A movie doesn't have to be a serious contender to sweep the Oscars before it can be considered worth watching, in case some of you didn't get that particular memo. This movie is just fun plain and simple. People are laughing out loud, groaning, shouting, laughing some more... just enjoy it, for ******'s sake.

This movie was every bit as stupid/cheesy/hilarious as I was expecting it to be.

Edit: And a highly entertaining use of $7.

friend's review that mirrors sentiments

I went and saw the 10:00 showing of Snakes on a Plane. I had been anticipating this movie ever since I read the first story on it on the net back in February. I even bought the poster since it was so badass. Really, I didn?t expect it to live up to they hype at all. I was expecting some funny moments, but for the most part for it to be a terrible terrible film.

I may have been right, but my experience last night was awesome. This is one hell of a fun movie. There are a few things that you should know about this movie though before you venture off to go see it. You should not go see this movie if any of the following apply:

- You don?t know why the movie is called ?Snakes on a Plane?
- You don?t appreciate his royal badass, Sam Jackson
- You plan to see this by yourself on a Tuesday matinee with a 20% full theater
- You can only be entertained by films of quality that have a chance at an Oscar nomination
- You don?t know the one line in the movie to look forward to

Those are just a few things that if apply to you, I?d recommend not going to see this movie. Since within our group the majority of which were looking forward to an entertainingly bad movie AND everyone else at the theater was completely into the back-story and aura surrounding the release of this movie the environment at the theater was twice as good as any other movie that I?ve seen. If there hadn?t had been the constant chants, cheers, gasps, hisses and applause from the rest of the audience, the experience would not have been nearly as enjoyable. I think seeing Snakes on the opening night had more of an impact on the level of enjoyment I felt than say seeing a new Star Wars or Harry Potter movie would.

You have to know what to expect going in. This movie is TRYING to be that late night B level Sci-Fi, campy movie. It does a lot of things that in any other movie would get eye rolls but for Snakes, becomes an intentional laugh out loud funny moment. It succeeds in being a really really bad enjoyable movie without being too stupid. I didn?t pay $7.50 expecting to see a bunch of special effects, action sequences or a cinematic masterpieces. I wanted to get some pure entertainment and that?s what Snakes on a Plane delivered. This movie pulled off all the hype and was much better than I could have expected.
