SMOKING: NEC Closeout $145 refurbished EA274wmi

Shipping is about $30. How did you find this deal? How is this better than the pixel perfect Shimian 27" 1440p IPS I bought for $200 that looks awesome?

The free shipping code listed in the OP worked for me, so total price was $144.20. These don't come with much of a warranty, though. I think it is 90 days. So if mine lasts a year, I'll be happy. But I might get lucky and it will last longer. At this price, if it flakes out, I'll just throw it away.

As I mentioned, I found it on [H] forums.

As far as the comparison to the Shimian 27, this is $144.

Personally, I would take a NEC over a Korean manufacturer any day, but that's my preference. This monitor is pretty highly reviewed.

Woah. Didn't even hesitate, jumped on this ASAP. Wish I had a reason for a second one, but I've already got a 1ms gaming monitor and this one can be used for photography.

It's really difficult to compare NEC to many other companies that make monitors. This is a steal.

I am really tempted by this...grrrr. It looks like a nice monitor that would be a nice upgrade over what I'm using now. Damn you hotdeals forum.

I'll be surprised if it actually ships. Now that I've looked they do have great prices on refurb/closeout products.

When I tried to buy two, it said quantity not available, but it let me place 2 orders for one display each, so I'll bet they're oversold and cancellation emails will be sent out on Monday...

Worst case, they'll say sorry and you might get a discount on one of these as courtesy. 😀

They also have this MODEL: PA272W-BK-R for photography/colour accuracy with 99.3% AdobeRGB coverage. Used to be $1300 US new:

My goodness ... they've also got a 27" (IPS) 1080p for like $87.50 bucks.

And look at those deals on the large format displays.

Welp, I know exactly where I'm going in the future if I ever need another monitor and/or television. 😉

I've always been a HUGE fan of NEC since the 90's so this is all gravy. =)

Yeah all these hot deals forums have bankrupted me over the past week, but I went ahead a gave this one a shot. If it ships I'll have a nice larger screen to look at, if not Ill be saving some cash. lol

Guys, just noticed through a search that there were 15,000 page views and 143 posts in a Slick deals thread for the NEC 1080P and 1440P IPS refurb monitors. The SD thread went up some time after the deal was posted on [H] and Anandtech. Still have my fingers crossed, but really doubt that any new orders will be shipped. Had been trying to talk myself out of ordering a second one...

Man, I was trying to order this all weekend. Gave it one last try and I was finally able to place an order.

EDIT: I was kinda expecting this to not go through, but NEC charged my CC right away.
