SMOKING !! IBM T41 for $1399.00 with Nylon case

quality-wise the R is far inferior than the T...

Damn only if it had a SXGA+ i'd be all over this. i have been waiting to upgrade my T30

Note that it seems like you have to call or IBM will call to complete the order. Looks like you may have to pay with a Discover credit card too as that's what the deal is targeted towards... Discover card customers.

I did the order process, they sent me an email saying I'd be contacted shortly by an IBM rep soon, what concerns me is something at the bottom of the email:

***LIMITED SUPPLY OF CERTIFIED USED PRODUCTS: Certified Used models cannot be reordered once they sell out. IBM Credit Corporation has the right to refuse or cancel orders placed for Certified Used products, even if IBM Credit Corporation has confirmed receipt of your order. If we take your order on a Certified Used product which sells out and the Certified Used product cannot be fulfilled through existing inventory, IBM Credit Corporation shall contact you and advise you of the stock outage.

refurb...?

looks good, but is this better? T40 express something cheaper and bigger screen, but heftier.

Seem cheaper up front, but it only has a one year warranty. The machine in this deal has the full 3yr warranty.
Plus the T41 has faster memory and the active protection system.

Looks hot to me if you're looking for a quality laptop which includes a 3-year warranty. The current price on this model/spec without this promotion is $1741.65 (regular $2,049).

non-promotional T41 model

P-M 1.4. Should be about as fast as a P4-M 2.2 or an XP-M 2400+. Specs look really cool. 1" thick, 4.5lbs, 5 hours battery life... Looks very quality 🙂

I could'nt hold any longer and snapped.... 😀

Just ordered one ! Came to about $1514.00 after 8,25 CA tax *shudder*

The rep was pretty surprised about the price and said that those go from $2099.00 and the T41'a are in a lot of demand.

I am surprised that not many people seem to jump on this !!!

I am sure IBM's hold their own as far as their laptops are concerned !
